KanexPro SW-2X28K Overview

The 2x2 8K HDMI Switch/Splitter from KanexPro is a compact two-input, two-output HDMI matrix, featuring HDCP 2.3 with the latest HDMI 2.1 specifications and supporting up to 8K60 / 4K120 resolutions. This simple matrix switcher can be fully controlled via IR or via the front-panel buttons to choose which source is displayed on which of the two displays.

HDCP 2.2 authentication is present at all times on this matrix, ensuring proper handshake of the protected content. High dynamic range video formats are supported, including HDR, Dolby Vision, and HLG, along with high-quality embedded audio, including LPCM, Dolby, and DTS formats. Other features include advanced EDID management, built-in timer/equalizer/driver to maintain signal quality over long distances, and a 40 Gb/s bandwidth.

Applications
The matrix switcher is designed for use in education, retail stores, and residential/smart home theater applications where multiple source devices may need to be transmitted to a single or dual display, while allowing all devices to be connected to a single home theater system.
HDMI 2.1 and HDCP 2.3 Compliant
The switcher meets the standards of HDMI 2.1 and HDCP 2.3, ensuring compatibility and support for the latest HDMI and content protection technologies.
40 Gb/s Bandwidth
The unit can handle high-speed data transfer up to 40 Gb/s, allowing seamless transmission of high-quality audio and video signals.
Supports up to 8K60 Resolution
Various video formats and resolutions are supported, including up to 8K60 resolution at different frame rates and color depths as well as up to 4K120 resolution at a high refresh rate and color precision.
VRR, FVA, ALLM Support
Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), Fast Frame Transport (FVA), and Auto Low-Latency Mode (ALLM) are supported in the device. VRR enables smoother gameplay by synchronizing the display's refresh rate with the source device, FVA reduces latency, and ALLM automatically activates game mode on compatible devices.
HDR Support
The matrix is capable of passing through High Dynamic Range (HDR) signals, including popular HDR formats such as HDR10, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and Hybrid Log-Gamma (HLG), allowing enhanced color and contrast reproduction on compatible displays.
HDMI Embedded Audio Formats
Embedded HDMI audio formats supported include uncompressed LPCM, Dolby Digital/Plus/EX, Dolby TrueHD, DTS, DTS-EX, DTS-96/24, DTS High Res, DTS-HD Master Audio, and DSD, providing immersive sound experiences.
