Fujicolor Superia X-TRA 400 Color Negative Film (35mm Roll Film, 36 Exposures) is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 52.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from PERFECT starter film This Fuji film, as as the name suggests, is superior. As a photography major in college, I always look for cost-effective, easy to use products that get the job done. With a film speed of 400, it suits most lighting situations without the sacrifice of a low shutter speed. As color film goes, the grain is very fine, leading to a crisper, sharper image. The one qualm i've come up against has been the tendency of the images to be a smidge on the flat side. But with this film, all you'd have to do is shoot at a 200 film speed and process as 400 and the colors pop much more. I will DEFINITELY continue to utilize this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great colours, great price Judging film is difficult because it all depends on the look you want. If you want one with delicate, muted colours then a vibrant one would seem 'poor'. etc This film provides bright colours with medium size grain at a low price. You can further manipulate it in post process, but I was so happy with the results that little was needed. The example was shot using a Nikon F2as with 50mm 1.2

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent film at a killer price I primarily use this film with my Nikon F100 and N90s cameras for forensic photography. The results are outstanding when I have the film processed and scanned to CD's. Why am I shooting film instead of digital? With digital, the original images can be altered but with film (as long as you have the original negative) it's next to impossible to alter the image. From a legal photography standpoint, this is very valuable.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Gives people chickenpox I love the color of this film. It's not an accurate, perfect rendition of reality. No film is (If you want perfect, go digital.). Instead, the colors are shifted just a little bit, but in a nice way. This is the color of vacations and other happy memories. Unfortunately, this film has GIANT, UGLY grain! It's really only noticeable in the skin tones. This makes it look like your family is infected with chickenpox! If it weren't for the grain, I'd be shooting this film exclusively. I'm going to try to ISO 100 version of this film. Hopefully it won't have the grain problem.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Film, Great Value I use this film for landscapes, travel, spontaneous snapshots, etc. I also use this film in many lighting situations: indoor, outdoor, flash, and ambient light. When scanning the negatives, I find it easy to color balance. The prints I have made from these scans are around 9x14, and they show very little grain. In my experience, the colors are a little more vibrant than Fuji's professional ISO 400 film, but not as much as Kodak Portra 400VC. This is the best value for ISO 400 color film. Though it may not have the same color vibrancy or fine grain of some professional films, it is still very satisfying to use if you plan to go somewhere and take lots and lots of pictures (which is what I do). I hope that this film can survive the digital revolution for a long, long time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value. Great film! I love the versatility of Superia 400. You get beautiful, elegant exterior shots and plenty of leeway for dark interiors. When I go into an unknown shooting situation I make sure I have some Superia 400 loaded. The price for 36 exposures is also hard to beat!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best cheap film Love this film. I develop and scan it myself and get fantastic results. Sharper and much better in low light than Gold 400. great tonal range and a solid two stops over and under.
