The controller accepts any smartphone up to 7.1" long, 3.4" wide, and 0.4" thick, which needs to be equipped with the DJI Fly app. The controller transmits piloting information using 2.4 and 5.8 GHz dual-band frequencies and receives an HD video feed from the drone to display on the phone's screen. The included cables support both Lightning and USB-C-compatible phones. On a full charge, the RC-N3 can operate for up to 3.5 hours or, if its internal battery is used to power the inserted phone, up to 1.5 hours.

I purchased this controller to pair with my new DJI Neo drone. Pairing with my phone and the aircraft was simple and easy. All functions work as expected. The phone clamp and included cable are quite sufficient for my needs, accepting my phone without the need to remove the case. The remote expands the capabilities of the Neo considerably. If you don't already have a compatible controller, this is an excellent choice.

The DJI RC-N3 Controller is not compatible with the DJI Mini 3 Pro. For compatibility with the DJI Mini 3 Pro, utilize the DJI RC-N1 or DJI RC.

Can you connect this remote to an iPad Air 9th Generation to fly with the DJI Neo?

DJI does not list any iPad models on their supported devices list for the DJI Fly app. An iPad Air 9th generation might work with the DJI RC-N3 Controller, but compatibility cannot be guaranteed.
