Ideal for immersive monitoring in large studios, postproduction facilities, and high-end audio mastering labs, the Neumann AMBEO Immersive Set (Large) is engineered for discerning audio professionals seeking the pinnacle of sound reproduction. Bundled together by B&H, this premium set boasts eleven KH 150 DSP-controlled active speakers and two KH 750 DSP-controlled subwoofers, delivering deep low end, clear mids, and high SPL capability with exacting accuracy.
The included MA 1 automatic monitor alignment microphone and calibration software ensure the best possible sound quality in your room. Advanced algorithms guarantee optimally aligned frequency response, time of arrival, and level for exact and reliable monitoring.
Audio engineers, musicians, and producers in need of a quality studio monitor with an extended frequency range will be thrilled with the anthracite Neumann KH 150, a 2-way active studio monitor well suited for near-field monitoring and multichannel setups in music studios, broadcast centers, and vans, as well as home studios and desktop audio applications. The KH 150 utilizes two amplifiers (145 and 100W) to power the 6.5" woofer and 1" tweeter respectively, an onboard DSP engine, a Mathematically Modeled Dispersion waveguide (MMD), an analog input, and an extensive range of optional mounting hardware.
The DSP function is accessed via a standard IP network and allows for room calibration using Neumann's revolutionary Automatic Monitor Alignment system. The MA 1 (sold separately) makes sure your DSP-powered monitors are optimally adapted to your room's characteristics and perfectly calibrated for your listening position. With the use of the latest acoustic and electronic simulation and measurement technologies, the KH 150 can be used in diverse acoustical conditions with any source equipment and in a wide variety of physical locations, ensuring accurate sound reproduction.
- High-precision drivers, Mathematically Modelled Dispersion (MMD) waveguide
- Linear frequency response 39 Hz to 21 kHz (±3 dB)
- Linear phase response 105 Hz to 16 kHz (±45°) with latency <2.6 ms
- DSP engine allows for room adaptive calibration via Neumann’s MA 1
- Razor-sharp imaging due to extremely low tolerances (±0.8 dB)
- May be combined with other KH line speakers in immersive/surround setups
- What differentiates the KH 150 from its smaller siblings is its deeper bass response down to 39 Hz. That’s almost as low as the larger KH 310, which is made possible by the KH 150’s novel 6.5” high-precision woofer in a carefully designed bass reflex cabinet.
- The KH 150 is ideally suited to urban music, EDM, film scoring, and all styles that require extended low-end and/or elevated listening levels.
- Thanks to powerful amplifiers (145W/100W) and sophisticated protection limiters, no clarity is lost even at high SPLs.
- The KH 150 works just as well for everything from rock to classical music, broadcast applications and voice-over work.
- The KH 150 has an exceptionally linear frequency response from 39 Hz to 21 kHz (±3 dB). Not only that, it also linearizes the phase response, which translates to clear mids with astonishing transparency and extreme accuracy in the time domain, (i.e. precise impulse reproduction and finely resolved reverbs.) This is made possible by DSP-controlled electronics that allow for sophisticated crossovers and avoid the phase distortion caused by analog filters.
- The internal DSP also achieves new standards in tonal consistency, as the KH 150 is made to extremely low tolerances of no more than ±0.8 dB.
- Even the best loudspeaker only sounds as good as the acoustic environment allows. Neumann’s Mathematically Modeled Dispersion (MMD) waveguide guarantees a wide sweet spot and minimizes desk reflections. But the KH 150 goes much further—its internal DSP allows for room calibration using Neumann’s revolutionary Automatic Monitor Alignment system.
- The MA 1 (sold separately) makes sure your DSP-powered monitors are optimally adapted to your room’s characteristics and perfectly calibrated for your listening position. Even in acoustically treated rooms, this results in a huge improvement.
Designed to complement both small rooms small studio monitoring systems, the Neumann KH 750 is a DSP-powered, 10" subwoofer capable of reproducing 18 to 300 Hz at SPLs of 105 dB. This model supplies a flexible 2.0/0.1 Bass Manager, so the sub can be implemented in many different scenarios. Use the KH 750 for the LFE channel in a 5.1 setup or as a sub in a conventional stereo mix position. The KH 750 can be easily integrated with Neumann's range of monitors and is suitable for use in mixing, mastering, music, and broadcast.
The KH 750 has multiple rear-panel options to suit various configurations such as four different routing modes. Analog and digital I/O is on hand, as are fourth-order DSP crossovers and acoustical controls to integrate the sub into your room. Using the RJ45 connection, you can utilize Neumann.Control, which operates over a standard IP network and offers controls for the KH 750 not found on the physical sub itself. These controls make it easier to set up, align, and operate the sub within your system, even in small locales. The Neumann.Control software can be controlled by means of your computer or an iPad.
Use the KH 750 to complement your small studio monitoring rig, and in doing so, relive the burden of bass extension from your existing monitoring system. By implementing this sub, you'll also notice a marked decrease of harmonic and intermodulated distortion from your main monitors, as that load has now been lessened. A pleasant side effect will be the ability to increase the overall SPL of your loudspeakers, so you can check for how the mix sounds at louder levels without inducing distortion.
- Decreases the bass extension of the monitoring system
- Increases the maximum SPL of loudspeakers
- Decreases harmonic and intermodulation distortion of loudspeakers
- Reproduces the LFE channel
- Reproduces the sub signal of a bass-managed multichannel source
- Makes a Plane Wave Bass Array system
- Works as an extension for KH 810, KH 870, and KH 805 subwoofer systems
The Neumann MA 1 Monitor Alignment Microphone and Calibration System is designed to help engineers, musicians, and producers get more accurate and sonically consistent mixes from their Neumann KH 80 DSP monitors or non-DSP KH-Series monitors when used with the KH 750 DSP subwoofer. The system uses an omnidirectional measurement mic and a downloadable software for Mac and Windows with Fraunhofer IIS algorithms to calibrate and adjust the phase and amplitude of the speakers to compensate for room imperfections.
The system is easy to use; simply connect the balanced outputs of your audio interface or monitor controller to your KH monitors. Connect the ethernet ports of your DSP-based monitors into a network switcher (available separately) and then route the switcher output into your computer. Plug the calibration mic into a mic input on your interface (48V phantom power is required) and follow the calibration process in your software. An SG105 mic clip is included to mount the microphone to a stand.
The MA 1 software algorithms use the measurements to adjust the speaker settings to a room-specific target curve that compensates for the room's acoustic flaws. All the correction parameters are stored in the DSP speaker, so it's always there without having to worry about plug-ins and driver issues. In addition, once calibrated, you won't need the ethernet connection.
As mentioned, you can also calibrate non-DSP KH monitors, as long as you are also using a KH 750 DSP subwoofer. The KH 750 DSP has enough processing power to align the entire system, including the two analog speaker connected its outputs. The KH 120, KH 310, and KH 420 loudspeakers benefit from having the linerization of their built-in crossovers for more clarity, a tighter bass, and more accurate time correction.
