Fujifilm Superia 1600 reviews

CU 135-36 Fujicolor Superia 1600 Color Print Film (ISO-1600) is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 23.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from A necessary addition to any film supply I'm hoping that Fuji will not discontinue this film, so I want other people to buy it. That being said, here a some reasons why you should buy it: 1) As far as I know, it's the fastest color film available. It will let you shoot hand held with long lenses, or even if you are using a tripod with a really long lens, the higher shutter speed you will be able to use will stop motion better and reduce mirror vibration. 2) It seems less grainy than the 1000 speed films I tried around 20 years ago. 3) The color seems similar to other Superia films.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not A Substitute for Image Stabilization This film is not for you if you only think you need it. That includes anyone thinking that high-ISO film is a good substitute for an image stabilized lens. This film is for sports and nighttime photography, where getting the picture is more important than grain and color saturation. That being said, I did get some interesting effects using this film in daytime, but this film is too grainy for normal use. The colors also seemed to be somewhat muted. If you will be using part or all of the roll on a clear sunny day, try the Fuji Superia 400 film instead. For normal low light conditions, I would recommend Fuji Superia 800 and a fast prime lens (f/1.4 or f/1.8).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No examples I am an instructor at a local university, which has for one of it's classes, begining scuba. I assist in the class. I purchased this 35mm camera, with the intent of filming the students, in class and in the ocean. I was told that the film,to be used. should be a much higher speed, for this purpose. I used one roll and had sush fanfastic results with the Fujicolor Superis 1600 print film, that I will likely order more when needed. The film was so sharp and clear, in and out of the water. At present, I can't find anything wrong with the product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Surprising! I bought a couple rolls for a low-light wedding reception so I didn't have to use a flash. I assumed the shots would be throw-away because of the kind of grain introduced at ISO 1600, but I was really pleasantly surprised! There is grain, obviously, but not so much that it ruins the photos. In fact, my shots turned out so much more natural than those from other photographers at the event using flash. The grain added a classic appeal to the photos that I love.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast Film That Doesn't Compromise Qualit Can't say enough about how good this film is. I shot a live band with Superia 1600 and got back some really crisp, colorful shots. Was able to use higher shutter speeds to freeze the action. Used a flash on a few shots too. The band was very happy. Also shot some landscapes, great results.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WOW!!! The first time I ordered the Superia Press 1600 to try out I wasn't expecting a super clear print. To my suprise it's as clear as ISO-200 film when using my 28-105mm lens, with my 500mm f/8 its a little grainy but not bad. The results are much better than Superia 800 from the local store. I always make a point to order up 4-5 roles when ever I go on vacation.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from i'm glad this is available I'm shooting with an old nikon FE inside of a gymnasium where my son is playing in a volleyball tournament. i don't want to use flash for the reason that it could possibly distract some of the players. i tried this once before with 800 speed film and couldn't squeeze a shot because not enough light (i'm using the 100mm series E lens). With this film, i was able to get a whole roll of decent exposures; the teacher and the pta were happy to get them. of course, the photos are grainy, but it's 1600, right?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent high speed color film I mostly shoot B&W, but when I do shoot color, I always go with Fuji. I only use this kind of film for night and low light photography, and I am NEVER disappointed. This high speed film allows you to shoot low light with shorter exposure. Nevertheless, I never leave the house without the tripod at night.. Long story short, my FAVORITE HIGH SPEED COLOR FILM. (like Ilford delta 3200 for B&W)
