44.3MP Full-Frame CMOS Sensor & L2 Engine
The newly developed 44.3MP full-frame CMOS sensor offers a balanced approach to high resolution, speed, and low-light performance. As an upgrade to its predecessor, the S1R II features improved processing with the L2 Engine, delivering:

  • Expanded dynamic range for better highlight and shadow detail

  • Improved color science for natural and true-to-life rendering
  • Enhanced noise reduction for cleaner images at high ISO speeds (ISO 40-102400 expandable)

For extreme detail, 177MP High-Resolution Mode allows you to create ultrahigh-resolution composite images using sensor-shift technology, perfect for landscape and studio photography.

  • AI-powered subject detection recognizes and tracks humans, animals, and vehicles
  • Enhanced eye, face, and body detection for both stills and video

The advanced autofocus algorithms provide better accuracy in low-light conditions and ensure smooth, natural focusing transitions for video production.

I'm a still photographer is this camera a still camera or more of a video camera ?
Asked by: Jesus A.
The S1Rii is photography centric, but also shoots great video. The new, updated phased-detect auto focus makes it a great competitor to other top brand photography centric cameras. It's lighter than the mark1, and has an amazing viewfinder for true-to-life colors. Video gets all the buzz, but this camera is great at photos only, like portraits, landscapes, and even events, weddings, street, and photojournalism.

Does the cropless EIS work with RAW video recording?
Asked by: Alexander
The specifications of the features of the Panasonic Lumix S1R II Mirrorless Camera (B&H# PADCS1R2) are not available at this time -- nor will they be available at the time of release. Rather, full raw support is scheduled for later this year (2025), and only at that time with the firmware as it will be then will it be possible to say what features are compatible during raw video capture. As for now, it should be kept in mind that support for cropless EIS during raw video recording would require a tremendous amount of processing power yet to be found in any similar camera.

Yes, the Panasonic Lumix S1R II Mirrorless Camera can use a memory card when using the camera-to-cloud feature. In fact, using a card is strongly recommended since it would be more reliable than only using cloud storage.
