SmallRig SD 4.0 Card Reader Reviews

Good for transferring photos to iPhone

MagSafe works well and files transfer quickly even from a mid tier SD card. I had to look up the exact process to import photos onto an iPhone but now it’s so much easier and faster than trying to do wireless transfers from my camera maker’s app.

Use with caution!

This reader has a bug in the firmware (with Android at least) where if you plug the card into the reader before you connect the reader to the phone the card will come up as unformatted. In order to use this reader you must connect it to your device first then plug the card into the reader. Other than that, its an awesome reader! I love the way it connects to my Peak Design case and (once you get it to read the card) it backs up files very quickly. I just wanted people to be aware of the issue so they don't do what I did and assume there is something wrong with their camera all of a sudden while they are traveling lol
