Hum eliminators work best when interference causes small differences in ground potential (less than 20 VDC) or long cable runs have induced currents. HEC series units also work well when there are multiple power panels in a building that create differences in ground potential which induce ground loop current flow and 60 Hz hum.

Reduces Electromechanically Induced Hum
The 2000 series of hum eliminators increase the attenuation at the power frequency (50 Hz or 60 Hz) when induced currents are high, therefore reducing hum.
Two Units Can be Used in Series
When a small amount of hum remains after one HEC has been installed, another unit can be added without significant signal degradation.

HEC-2000 Video Hum Eliminator is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Completely Eliminated Video Distortion We use the AA Hum Eliminator in our church's youth building. We have multiple video sources running through a switcher, then through a splitter out to televisions, projectors, etc. We had video distortion caused by a ground loop. I inserted this unit between the switcher and splitter, and the problem is completely solved. The picture is crystal-clear. The placement of the terminals on top is a little annoying. It would be nice for them to be on the side for a lower profile; but it's certainly not a deal-breaker.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Perfectly We purchased this hum eliminator to deal with video hum in a live feed set up at our church. We use a camera in one building to send a feed to another building about 200 feet away over a cat 5 distribution balun. The signal had some significant static (noise) in it. The HEC-2000 took all the noise out, resulting in a clean camera feed. Easy to install, great performance.
