Canon ET-67 overview

  • 1Description

Lens hoods are primarily designed to prevent unwanted stray light from entering the lens by extending and shading the end of the lens. In addition, since the end of the lens is extended, you also get the added benefit of some extra protection from accidental impact.

Dedicated lens hoods are designed to match the specific focal length of the lens it was designed for.

Canon ET-67 reviews

ET-67 Lens Hood for EF 100mm f/2.8 USM Macro Lens is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 56.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not for 1:1 macro Lens hood is a lens hood. Fits well on the lens, both when shooting and when stored. Unfortunately, the length of this hood is longer than the focusing distance for 1:1 macros. I don't use this hood when taking life-size macros on the 100mm f/2.8.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well designed lens hood The hood is expensive, but worth the money, and a small cost compared to the lens itself. I bought this lens hood to replace a generic lens hood, and the difference is definitely noticeable. All generic lens hood do not have any soft velvet flocking inside the hood to absorb light and reduce glare, while the Canon, as usual does have flocking. Holding the hoods side by side, you can see how a generic hood only reflects the light off the inside, while the Canon absorbs it. Much better quality plastic on the Canon also.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A solid lens hood A good lens hood overall. I'm using it on the macro 100 f/2.8 and it serves its purpose well when shooting outdoors. Honestly, the construction could be a bit more solid (there is some torsional flexing when you put it on or take it off and you aren't grasping it where it joins the lens). The manual even advises against grasping and rotating the hood anywhere but the base to avoid warping it. That's the only reason I'm docking a star. Fit and finish are great and the felt lining on the interior is nice. Recommended.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from buy it only if you really need it I use the hood when I transform my macro lens into a portrait or an outdoor overall lens. And in these cases it is a must have. But if you plan to use your lens for and only for macro, you might want to consider saving your money. I have to say that the plastic touch didn't seduce me at all. It is giving my lens a non-durable look.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from works great This lens hood fits my canon 2.8 100 macro perfectly. As with all the other canon lens hoods I have it has the non-reflective inner coating.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Plasticy Does it's job, but it's very plasticy and a little bit flimsy on my Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from must have for your 100mm macro Ok, I am used to having lens hoods for all my lenses, and I am also used to be included with my lens purchase, currently this is my only non L, lens. apart from (obviously) shielding your lens from glare, hoods are pretty good at protecting your front element, being a macro, it is usually closer to your subjects, so this becomes very impotant. I always buy Canon glass, so I always buy Canon Accesories

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A must with EF100mm f2.8Macro USM Some Canon lenses are not sold with it's matching Lens Hood which I cannot agree. Earlier I bought a cheaper third party lens hood for another Canon lens but am not happy with it. Fixing is not so smooth and same plastic surface inner side! This time I went for Canon ET-67 because it has black velvet inner side which prevents unwanted reflections and even fixing is also smooth.
