M447 Competition Turntable Cartridge is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 35.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Legend Cartridge Handle With Care I bought these to use on my Technic 1200s. I wanted to try these because so many people recommend them. These are great cartridges, because they sound great and most of all hold to the groove when scratching. However, you have to replace and remove these before and after each gig, even if you carry your 1200's in flight cases. Now I see why they sell those little flight cases for cartridges! The stylus will get bent or broken while in transport if you don't remove them. I had a matched pair of Stanton Groove Masters 15 years and never had one stylus get bent or broken in transport.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Vinyls are back When I came to America in 1987, it was already to late to fulfill my dream of having all The Beatles vinyl LP's. Now they are back and I've got them. I needed a professional quality (direct drive, manually operated) turntable, but I did not fill like spending a fortune. I bought AT-LP1240 turntable with Shure M447 Competition Cartridge. it gives me gives me a full control over the needle pressure and direct drive RPM control. I am enjoying my music and haven't found anything bad about the cartridge.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this Cartridge! Bought 2 for pair of Audio Technica tables. Looks fuddy-duddy to some of the other cartridges, but for a limited budget this cart. is awesome! Well made, good sound quality, and durable. Only recommendation may be to purchase the Shure mounting accessory kit, for an extra set of screws and washers. Other than that, this products does what it says from the start!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Get the best of the best Definitely the best scratch cartridge that is available for any dj that decides to learn how to scratch. I had been using stanton v500s before, and the difference is profound in the way the 44-7's hold the groove so well.Keep in mind that they do take a little while to break in, and so tend to skip a lot at first, but mess around for several hours with them, and they start working wonders. The sound is great, and I'd say definitely worth the price to spend a little more on these cartridges.Great buy. Sidenote: Also comes with a needle brush, and the screwdriver needed to install them. The instruction manual on how to install them is a little bit misleading, as they led me to put the screws in upside down. I'd look it up on youtube, how to setup a cartridge, so you get a visual of how to do it. Other thing that would be nice would be a cartridge case, but I do know that there are packages that include that. Definitely get these, anyhow. Packaging is way cool.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best Bang for the Buck Can't be beat for the price! Not the most hi-fi cart, but tracks excellent and is perfect for timecode vinyl. I also use it to rip vinyl with my TTXUSB with excellent results.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Cartridge Shure makes great cartridges and M447 is one of them. While I'm not a real picky audiophile, this cartridge sounds great. I bought this for a teenager who was getting into vintage vinyl. We had bought an old turntable and he was complaining that it just didn't sound good, certain sounds were muffled. After he had tinkered with it and replace the stylus on the original cartridge, we bought him a new M447 cartridge. He was finally happy with the sound of the old turntable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best DJ Needle/Cartridge Ever I have used the Shure M447 Needle and Cartridge extensively over a 7 year period, and they have never disappointed. Great for Hip Hop, Bass music, and ultimately - scratching! Great skip protection and low end from these needes. I'll never switch to another pair. With hardcore scratching, the needles last me around 6 months. One cartridge stopped working with Serato after 6 years of use (still works on vinyl). I highly recommend this to all other DJs.
