FILTER CAP 52mm is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Why hasn't this been done before? For those of us who have lost one lens cap after another, this thing is great. It opens totally outside your field of view and snaps back shut. Very important for, because it fits between the filter and the lens, it does not get into your picture's field of view on very wide angle shots. Expertise: Serious amateur

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wouldn't be without it I bought this for my Oly 5050Z, and it is great. It is ugly, but it's always there, and one finger opens or closes it. No more lost lens caps, and no more forgetting to put the cap back on. I just bought a new Canon DSLR, and I missed this cap so much that I am ordering one for the Canon. It is more difficult to remove a circular polorizer, as it fits between the lens and the filter, but that doesn't matter for the always there protection it gives. Yes, it does feel and look cheap, but I would rather have my lens protected at all times than worry about how ugly it is. When people ask about it, I just show them how handy it is, and they agree that it is a great cap. Once you've used one, you just automatically open or close it without even thinking about it, so your lenses and filters are always protected.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not what I expected I went to B&H pick up this product. After I saw the actual thing, I decide to get the regular replace lens cap instead. There is no thread on the base ring just a flat plastic circle. The material feels like Chinese take out plastic container Soft and I dont think it will stay in position. Not a strong feeling. I would recommend to check it out before you order it. Problems Encountered: Just the over all quality and design does not make me believe it's a good product. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great solution for slim filters The perfect solution for my slim polarizing filter that won't accept a regular click-in lens cap. The cap that came with the filter is not snug enough, and I was afraid I was going to lose it - enter the Op/Tech filter cap. Keeps my lens clean and protected, and I don't have to worry about losing the cap. Great idea.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solves the problems of losing lens caps This cap is exactly what I wanted. It is sufficiently well built and works great. I'll get one for each lens I buy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solves problem of losing and/or dangling lens caps I bought this to replace (1) my stock Nikon lens cap which must be put somewhere where it will not get lost and then (2) a lens cap holder which solved the previous problem but left the lens cap dangling from the lens and bobbing around. With this one the cover is attached and you just flip it back. It was a little tricky attaching it between the lens and the filter, but once that was done I could just forget about it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Inexpensive and Convenient Cap This is my 3rd cap but still love them. I find it best used when I have my dslr on a chest strap or D-ring setup while hiking, then I can flip cap and snap making it much faster to grab a shot and continue. I have these mounted on a few pancake lenses between slim uv filters. My Voigtlander 40mm even has the compact lens hood and slim filter on and I'm still able to snap the cap closed. I end up wearing one out about every year. Typically wears out the plastic from the cap opening as I rush to get the camera back in or out of the bag or the cap has opened, causing it to bend backward. One time I dropped my slr (5dmkii) and impacted on the cap breaking the ring that sandwiches between the filter but it ended up saving my camera and lens from getting a dent or scratch. At the price, you can't complain. As it wears, it gets a little harder to keep the cap snapped on and start so pop open easier if jostled in the bag.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Idea Good idea, but would have been better if at least the part that connects to the camera was made of a thinner metal. It doesn't leave much on the filter to thread to the lens due to thickness of the plastic. However, if you turn it counter-clockwise first, you can catch the threads easier when you try to tighten in on to the lens.
