question

Can you use these speakers on a regular home amplifier?
Asked by: Dean C.
The JBL Control 26CT are designed to be use with a 70v commercial amplifier. A home receiver lacks the necessary transformer found in commercial amps like the JBL CSA 1120Z Audio Amplifier; B&H# JBCSA1120Z.

I paired these speakers with a Pyle amp (Model PTA4) and they sound bad. Is there an amp that will sound good with an AUX input?

question

What is a good head unit to pair with a group of 6 speakers?
Asked by: Anonymous
The Control 26CT has a built in transformer allowing in it to be used in a distributed audio system. These speakers are able to be tapped at multiple wattages. When connected to a 70v audio system, the amplifier must be rated to handle the sum of all speakers connected with an additional 20% for headroom.

question

Can they've used as a normal 16 ohm speaker not 70v or 100v?
Asked by: Anonymous
Sort of, you will get sound but it will not operate very well at increased volumes. Ultimately I would not recommend doing it. I think it would eventually damage the voice coil.

question

I'm looking at using these for a church system. what do you recommend the placement to be between each speaker on a 9'-12' cathedral ceiling? Do you connect to both 2,3 and 1,4 to daisy chain the speakers or just 1,4 for the loop thru to the next speaker? And finally, can you use a standard 1/4 mono plug to speaker wire to connect the speakers?
Asked by: Travis J.
DO NOT buy these speakers without the C44 Subwoofer. They MUST be used as part of a system that includes the $319 Subwoofer.
