Expert Take: Sony RX10 V Real World Performance
The Sony RX10 V is the everyday camera I'd recommend if you're looking for professional-level results without carrying a bag full of lenses. In your hand, it feels substantial and well balanced without feeling overly bulky. The grip provides you a secure and comfortable hold, which matters most when you're shooting for long periods of time or working with the extended zoom.
It's strength lies in its versatility. The long zoom makes the RX10 V a practical camera for travel, wildlife photography, sports, family events, in addition to everyday shooting. You can move from wide scenes to distant subjects quickly without changing lenses. For photographers or creatives who are looking for strong 4K video capabilities, fast autofocus, excellent image quality, and an all-in-one camera, the RX10 V is a compelling choice. It not only feels like a serious camera in your hands, but maintains an overall comprehensive user experience that is straightforward.

For storage, there is a front zippered organizer panel, mesh side pocket and two side loops that accept optional pouches. On the inside of the quick-release flap, there are two touch fastened memory card pockets. Sony RX10 V Reviews
Focus problem at 600mm
I was so excited when the V came out I preordered and received it as soon as it was released. Coming from a full frame camera and being a hobbyist for over 40 years I know a bit about photography. It was to my surprise that at 600mm all of my shots were either very soft or completely out of focus. I started to think it was user error so I bought, read and watched tutorials on this camera. No photo at long range was razor sharp, closer shots were acceptable but why have a camera if photos at 600mm are out of focus and soft at best. Shame on Sony for marketing a subpar camera. I would not recommend this camera until Sony can make a fix.
Really happy
Really really happy with this camera. Just can't say enough about the clarity of the photos and the options in the setup. The only two things I am missing is a built-in flash and being able to set time-lapse for more than 1 minute between shots. Quite minor really, because this was purchased for wildlife, and the tracking and auto-focus are excellent. Every nuance of fur and feathers is crystal clear. Macro allows you to get practically on top of the subject. I had purchased the Nikon P950 and really missed the Zeiss lense, so was happy they released the 10V. Even though the Sony lense has a shorter range, the photos are so clear you can crop in and get the same quality.
