Very expensive flashtube but I guess you get what you pay for. All in all great product and a must have for the studio.

Simple to install and works as expected. A little pricey though, thats why it gets 4 stars.

Well, how could you go wrong? I bought mine for a backup, and it's sitting on a shelf. It's good to have one ready in case you need it, rather than losing a head during a shoot.

$$ & short life...BUT

Not really a choice here. Iove the light that the Acute Pro creates, however they are a bit delicate and the Flash Tubes burn out. I have 20 year old (older?) Speedotrons that have never once burned out a tube, and they are not $ to replace. The Acute makes a better light in my opinion, and are of course much smaller, and the power output can be tweaked to a much lower and more precise degree than a Speedotrons.

An Expensive Necessity

Of course a light bulb isn't necessarily something to get excited about - it's a necessity, an expensive one at that. I never bothered buying a spare because of the cost and, as luck would have it, it burnt out during a studio shoot. (I had the original bulb for 1 year.) So, I improvised with my other two strobes and finished the session, ordering the replacement bulb right away. The installation wasn't TOO hard but it was a little tricky because I heard you're not supposed to touch the bulbs with your fingers so I used the paper it was wrapped in as a buffer. You have to push it down in the slots pretty firmly to make the connection.

This is the first time that I have had to replace a flashtube on my Profoto gear, and I was surprised by the cost. It was a little fussy to get in place but works perfectly.
