A&I C4135 reviews

Processing and Printing Mailer for 35mm Color Negative Film is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 27.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Long Lead Time ...The prints were OK ... not the best I've seen, but not bad either. They are only proofs, after-all.They cut the negatives into strips of six frames, which is how I do it at home - so good news to me.The negatives were in good condition - no scratches or anything like that. I've seen them come back in terrible shape from other places.I think I'll send them another roll or two before I make up my mind, but so far I have mixed feelings... Mostly due to the long lead time and less than stellar prints. If all you really want is the negs - I would use them again without hesitation. The prints leave a little to be desired, but they serve their purpose (proofs).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Never disappointed / takes a bit of time I normally get film developed mostly to scan, color myself and then upload to flickr. A lot of times I've been impatient and taken my film to Walgreens, the prints are sub-par and the film looks like it has been developed in some old and busted chemistry. I also use a semi-pro / enthusiast photo lab in town, and recently all the negs are coming back with tons of scratches and little specs. The pro labs in San Francisco are too expensive. As a result, I think I'm going to stick to these A&I mailers that I've been using on and off for several years. The negatives are always really clean and look like they have gone through good chemistry and the prints look great to me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast, excellent ... Basically, you fill out your address info on the envelope, drop your film cartridge in there, toss it in a mailbox, go find something to do for a week, and voila, professionally processed and printed pictures in your mailbox, wrapped in plastic to keep them dry and pressed between two pieces of cardboard to keep them from getting bent. Will definitely use again in the future.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from As Good for Color Prints as for B&W It has been quite a few years since I last sent color print film to A&I. (Generally they have been developing color slide film and several kinds of b&w print film for me.) I have to say that I am extremely pleased with the results. The pictures are sharp, maybe a little bright (although it is hard to say, since I have never used the film previously and the sun came close to glaring that day), and on the whole pleasing. I will send more color print film to A&I, without a doubt. I also appreciate the packaging in which the photos were returned: a stiff mailer within which there was a folded cardboard protector. The prints, negatives, and CD were enclosed in heavy plastic. I am one happy customer!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from very very slow. hard to contact. Well, no matter how good the prints are, the service is terrible. I shipped film from San Francisco, CA (to Los Angeles, CA) a month ago. It was hard to reach them over the phone. Emails are also not returned. Finally I talked with someone and he said that they just got the film. It is hard to believe that mail from SF to LA takes a month to deliver. Overall it seems like they simply don't care. From my experience: I sent five rolls. Once they returned prints in one week, two times - in two weeks, and the last two times - in more than a month. Don't know what to expect with the next roll.
