Celestron 93625 Overview

Ultratelephoto photography is easily achieved with your telescope by purchasing this SLR camera adapter. You'll need to take precautions to minimize vibrations, such as locking up the mirror if possible as well as using a cable release or remote control to fire the shutter.

First, remove the eyepiece. Next, attach the SLR camera adapter where the eyepiece would normally be attached to the telescope, and screw in a t-mount adapter to the opposite end of the SLR camera adapter. Now you can attach your camera to the t-mount and you are ready to begin taking pictures!

Note:
Your camera will need to be in fully manual exposure mode, although some brands of camera may also work in aperture-priority autoexposure mode.  Additionally, if there is a switch on the camera which chooses the focus mode, that switch must indicate manual focusing.

The adapter works but is probably best utilized by a DX format camera as the projected image is fairly small. I ended up also getting the Celestron SLR Camera Adapter with Integral 2x Barlow Lens which works more effectively in my opinion. My best results were obtained when I mated the adapter with Barlow lens to my D810 camera and was very pleased with the results.

Allows using your camera on certain scopes that maybe doesn't have options to use other adapters. Ie just remove eyepiece and insert this. Remember to get t ring for your camera

It is the exact adapter for my Nikon SLR to my scope.

question

..My main problem is..acccording with Sony specifications, and for reasons of security, the Sony A100 DSLR Camera wont take a single shot if the lens is not attached to the camera, which I have to remove in order to use the camera adapter or T mount....how would I solve this problem..should I hack my camera? Thanks!
Asked by: Anonymous
If you put the camera in Manual it should work, and take photos. You shouldn't be having that issue if you have the T-Ring in the body, and the camera in Manual Mode.
