Rated 3 out of 5 by from #505 Connector Cable Set by Meade When i first received the cable i could not understand why the PC would not recognize the lx90? I looked at all the wire ends and connections and they appeared OK so i suspected the USB to serial adapter but i suspected wrong. After several hours i found that by holding the 505 cable end that goes into the Meade serial interface adapter on an angle completed the connection so either the adapter or the wire was bad. B&H took care of the issue right away by sending me a replacement and not even asking for the defective one back. I have not tested the new one as of yet but build quality seems cheap but to be fair it is very old technology.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works like a charm! The Meade 505 connector will connect the Autostar controller to your computer, assuming you have a serial connection. I do not, so I have to also use a serial to USB adapter to connect it to my MacBook Pro. This connector works very reliably once it is set up and will allow you to control your telescope with a variety of different telescope control and planetarium programs including Starry Night, Equinox, Voyager, AstroPlanner, Stellarium, and many others. I have yet to see one fail and I have used them for 10 years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from discontinued? It works, what more is there to say. I know this is discontinued so I'm glad I got another now. Not many places have 'em.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worked as Expected I used the cables to connect a Meade LXD75 mount with Autostar controller to my PC. The PC has TheSky6 installed. All worked as expected, even with an extension cable. Two complaints. First the cable is short. I had to use an extension (4 pin phone extension cable). Second, why doesn't this come with the mount?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An easy way to connect This is the simplest way to connect the telescope to a computer. I just plugged the serial cable into the telescope and computer and started controlling the telescope. My only suggestion is the serial cable could have been a bit longer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from OK Its fine, however the PC serial port is female and the connector is female, so a male serial adapter is required also.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a MUST HAVE for Meade telescopes Cable and connector work fine. Using them for the interface between my LX90 and Stella.
