Meade 07531 overview

  • 1Description

Meade's ND 96 Moon Filter, with 13% transmission, is a neutral density filter transmitting light uniformly across the entire visual spectrum.  It serves as an excellent filter to reduce glare and irradiation when observing the Moon with any telescope with an aperture of 4.0" and larger.  The ND96 filter may also be employed in the splitting of close double stars where one of the binary pair significantly exceeds the other in brightness.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product A tad darker and I would have given it a 5. Does help with the glare and improves detail.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally, I can see the Moon! This filter is a must for observers of the moon. It tones down the brightness of the moon ever so slightly and allows you to see the details of the moon-scape

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Highly recommended - a necessity for moon gazing A neutral density filter is a must for moon observing pretty much regardless the phase. The filter quality is great with no apparent degradation of the telescope optics and it correctly threaded onto all my 1.25 eyepieces. The price was great as well! Highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Filter works great, just as described I have used this filter many times since I bought it. It is of the highest quality and works exactly as I expected. I will buy this brand from the same company again. Thanks for the great product at a very competitive price

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Get one! (Or maybe two?) Works as described to reduce glare when observing the lunar landscape. However, depending on your combination of telescope aperture and magnification you may need to stack two of these to dim the view to an acceptable level.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of the best filter out there I don't have a telescope, but i used with a binoculars lend by a friend. I use my digital camera which lucky, i can put the filter in the lense (without screw it though) and put it together to the eye lense of the binocular.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from without this moon burns a hole in my eye I can see more details in the craters and mountains of the moon with this, and much more comfortably. Without it, in my 8 dobs, the moon is so bright I walk away after a few seconds with a hole burned in my eye.
