    Azden EX-503 reviews

EX-503L Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Lav Mic for the price I recently picked up three of these for backups for a corporate video shoot. After testing them, I decided to give them a try as our main Lav mics. They worked flawlessly for every segment we shot. And the price cannot be beat. Of course, they are omni-directional, so ambient room sound has to be strictly controlled. As given the price range, these mics cannot compare to the units 10x the cost, and sound can run a bit 'tinny' unless placed perfectly. But we found them excellent additions to our audio kit, and will be getting more as our audio needs expand.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good Audio Bad Wires I have a set of these mics came with my dual wireless azden unit. At less then 10 interviews and 7 months,I was getting clicking drop-outs and thought at 1st that it was wireless internet or local EMS transmissions knocking it out.No it was the poor choice of cable used for these mics that was the issue. So I head here to buy two replacements these lasted about 3 interviews and less then 4 months. These wires develop bad connections and will ruin your shoots and final product. Azden is not really interested in this.I get things wear out and I deal with that as a small business owner all the time but I'm not interviewing gymsts these are all sit down interviews for them to fail so early is clearly a materials issue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this Mic! Looking for an inexpensive lavalier microphone with great sound quality that I could use with my GoPro Hero 3 Black Edition, seemed like the impossible. After trying a few other lavalier mics without great results, I decided to try the Azden EX-503L and I couldn't be happier. People have been complimenting me on my professional sound quality - which just goes to show you don't need to spend a fortune to get great audio!Pros - inexpensive, clear sound quality, sturdy connector and effective noise cancelling windscreen.Cons - (kinda) Around other electronic devices, it sometimes picks up a lot of feedback. I have found that by deleting the right channel and creating dual mono with the left channel, it eliminates the feedback... and sounds better when using headphones.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Problems with System Have been having problems with our Azden wireless microphone system with the audio coming thru like there was a loose connection someplace. Wigling the wire on the lavalier mic seemed to help so bought this to replace the one we had, but the same problem still exists.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not Bad For the Price I agree that the mic cord could be longer. But the price is too good to pass up. I solved the cord problem by going to Radio Shack, buying a 4 foot cord extension for 4 dollars. Mic works pretty good as long as you listen for levels as you are recording.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from For the price it's a steal! I MUST DISAGREE with a previous review from Jonny PA they are durable as much as my sony ones costing 7 times the price. Here's a tip for those of you who are rough or sloppy with your gear. IT'S A WIRE so be careful and don't abuse of it!!! When I put these mics away or ANY set of laws by the way, I observe the original bending marks that came from factory. don't re-bend the cables to fit your bag. Make the BAG fit the cable! Following these suggestions will make your delicate lav wire to last until 2080 or longer. I'm a very busy videographer and do lots of run and gun. Nothing I own ever breaks. I own 2 of these mics with their complete lav system Excellent audio capture. It's quiet, crisp yet gentle on highs and no hiss!I use this on the Azden lav system and ALSO worked flawlessly on a Gopro hero 4 via external audio using this mic.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works good, length is not Good The sound quality is great for the money. However, i was surprised to see the length of the cord from the connector to the mic. Not long at all. If you do not have an inside coat to put the transmitter in i don't know where you would put it. It is not long enough to clip around back on a belt or something.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Value! I use this microphone with my dual channel azden kit. I have two of these and I love them. I use them mainly for interview purposes. I didn't think that the screw down connector would matter but I would never go back. No more worrying about someone yanking a mic out of the transmitter.
