Heliopan ND Filter (52mm, 1-Stop)
Key Features
  • 0.3 Optical Density
  • 4-Layer Multicoating on Each Surface
  • Schott Glass
  • Brass Ring
This 1-stop, 52mm Heliopan ND Filter is an ND filter with a 2x filter factor that provides a 1-stop exposure reduction. Its 0.3 optical density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed without overexposing your image. By slowing your exposure time, you can create motion blur for special effects or to convey a sense of movement. Opening your iris allows you to create shallow depth of field, which can help isolate your subject. Neutral density filters do not affect the coloration of the image and are ideal for pairing with other filters.

Heliopan Neutral Density Filter Overview

To prevent internal ghosting and reflections, each glass surface includes four layers of anti-reflection coating. Together, these eight coatings offer greater protection to the filter substrate and help it to stay clean for longer than with uncoated filters.

This Heliopan neutral density filter is constructed from Schott glass for increased optical clarity as well as color fidelity and features a brass filter ring for enhanced durability and jamming prevention.

question

What is the weight of this filter?
Asked by: Mathias H.
The manufacturer does not provide the exact weight of the filter, but the shipping weight (which includes the package) is 1.6 oz. The filter itself (without the packaging) would be approximately half of that -- 0.8 oz. (23 g).

question

Dear All,I'm about to purchase a ND filter for Zeiss 15 f2.8Before purchase I wanna be sure 95mm filters do not produce any vignetting. Are Heliopan good for these purpose? Slim enough?I would by different ND and leverage on only one shipping cost! But for this purpose I have to be sure in advance that a single filter (multiple filters of course will produce vignetting) is okThx a lotM

The Heliopan 95mm Neutral Density 3.0 filter will be a great choice for the Zeiss 15mm f/2.8 lens. You should not experience vignette using this ND filter on that lens.

question

I've got a few questions about this heliopan ND filter i was hoping i can get help on.1. Is this a multi-coated filter?2. Will it vignette with wide angle lenses (i.e. 16-35mm Canon f4L lens)?3. does it have front filter threads?
Asked by: Khurram
Not sure on the multi coating, but I believe they are at least single coated. This filter is relatively thin, so vignetting should not be a problem on that lens. Yes, they have front filter threads. With that said, I would recommend checking out the Firecrest ND filters. They are very thin, have front threads and they have great multi coating.
