Heliopan 708837 overview

  • 1Description

The Heliopan Bay 60 Neutral Density 0.9 Filter is a solid ND filter providing a 3 stop exposure reduction. This 0.9 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. By slowing your exposure time or increasing your aperture, you are able to control depth of field and convey movement more easily.

The front and rear surfaces of the filter both feature a single anti-reflection coating. Each coating helps to increase light transmission by reducing reflections, scattered light, and ghosting. Additionally, they offer protection to the filter substrate while helping to keep the glass clean for longer than uncoated glass.

This Heliopan filter is constructed from Schott glass for increased optical clarity and color fidelity. It features a brass filter ring for durability as well as jamming prevention.

    Heliopan 708837 reviews

Bay 60 Neutral Density 0.9 Filter is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent ND filter This is a really great neutral density filter. It allows me to cut down on the amount of light coming into my Hasselblad lens so that I can shoot wide open in bright sunlight, without sacrificing image quality. The front filter threads allow me to attach either my Cokin attachment with yellow filter (for b&w film photography), or my graduated neutral density filters. Or I can attach my B+W circular polarizer to it if I need to enhance the saturation and add some contrast to the scene. The build quality of the filter is top of the line. My only gripe with it is that the case is rather clunky. I much prefer the B+W cases, as they are simple and compact and can easily fit into a camera bag without taking up too much space. From the description of the product, I cannot determine whether it is multi-coated or not, but having stacked filters and used this in a myriad of shooting situations, I have detected NO loss in image quality and no ghosting effects like you might find with a cheap, non-coated filter. I would definitely buy Heliopan filters again.
