Rated 2 out of 5 by from Necessary tool for a job. It does what it needs to... sort of. I hated that it was free rotating from the mount to my lighting kit which was an Elinchrom. Taking it off my lights was a complete fiasco. It kept spinning and would not come unlocked. It would be nice if there was a lock mechanism that allowed me to stop it from spinning when i needed to disassemble.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from TOP quality I actually read a review of someone complaining about the weight of this speed ring. Hello what planet are you from.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Well made I had two strip softboxs with these rings for Elinchrom. It looks a first glance like a it's no brainer to ensemble these boxes, but wrong, it's difficult and has its tricks. No instructions are provided and I could not find any pdf support on-line, so I had to contacted them, it did not help much. Not easy to set on the strobe. It deliver what is suppose to.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Westcott Softbox needs Westcott Speedring You need a Westcott speedring for a Westcott softbox! I bought a new Westcott softbox for my Elinchrom lights. I had a speedring from another non-Westcott softbox and expected it to fit. The Westcott rods in the softbox are larger in diameter than the speedring accepts. I tried another speedring and the same result. So, it appears that Westcott softboxes need a Westcott speedring. More expensive, but it works.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Needs work Better than the Impact version. Still needs some improvement. It's very hard to get it locked on the Elinchrom BRX lights. I filled the tabs little to smooth them out and give it al little more space to lock in. With some silicon dry lube on the tab it's now workable. See picture for area in red to be filled and lubed. Overall well made

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It does exactly what it needs to There is absolutely nothing wrong with the box. For the price, I don't think I would purchase anything else. I haven't had the need to collapse it nor take it out of my studio for a shoot so I can't tell you about the durability. But otherwise it is a fantastic piece.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from OK but not great Pro: works good. not too hard to put together. After the first time it's simple. Con: Can't get it to lock on my Elinchrom. it rotates and goes in but won't lock. With my 5' Octa that not safe and i worry it will fall on customers.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Rugged and durable! Overly rugged and durable, and its's NEVER going to break. On the downside the durability makes it a little heavy. However it was the only speed ring that fits my wescott strips, so what can I do? :D
