Baby Boa Weight Bag (5 lb, Black) is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 33.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this Ok it's an expensive sandbag, what's the big deal? The big deal is that it's filled with steel shot which makes it safer than lead and more compact than sand or gravel. The strap in the middle is lined with a textured grippy material that helps it grip smooth tubular parts of light stands. It can also be wrapped for greater grip which makes it easy to secure to almost any part of a light stand, no hooks or other attachment devices needed. The stitching of the bag is strong and gives confidence that it will not burst at the seams. The design makes them easy to carry around. I have no problem bringing a couple of 5 lb versions on location shoots. Oh, steel shot is expensive. Try buying some and making your own bags (like I was planning) and you'll learn that it will cost you as much or more. Just get the BOAs and be done with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolute 5-Stars I love Boa Bags This is my favorite Boa Bag. The Baby Bag is 5 lbs, which you'd think is too light to do anything, but it's perfect for small stands. There are MANY times that a standard (15 lbs) bag is WAY more than you need, but you do need SOMETHING for most stands... for safety. This little bag gives you that extra measure of safety on small stands with a modest load. There are other uses for any of the Boa Bags which may not be obvious until you get to know your kit. I've impressed people on set by using a Boa for quick problem solving... such as keeping a door open on a slick floor, where a standard sand bag, even at 15 lbs, slides under the weight of the door, you can put the strip of the Boa, rubber side down, under the door and even the little 5 pounder holds it. This is also a great size/weight to balance a long boom... There are many uses for ALL the Boa Bags, which go beyond the simple dead weight purpose of other bags. A Boa can still do everything a normal bag does so it's a no-brainer. I have tons of these... most of my sand bags are Boa. I like all sizes, but in order of 5, 10, 15... the 15 is my least favorite Boa, because for MOST purposes (at that weight) I use it like any other bag. The 10 and 5 lend themselves to more creativity. BTW... B&H is HANDS DOWN the place to get these... with free shipping B&H is the only place I'd consider buying ANY sand bags. Seriously. Thank you B&H. I don't know how you can ship these for free, but you'll notice I've ordered other items when I've ordered these bags, that's an honest thank you from me to you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from might be the best i previously had a set of sandbags that started to leak (once the plastic liner grew old). while sandbags are less expensive, i'll never purchase again after cleaning sand out of my gearthese super small bags (compared to my previous setup) are great. they fit into my light stand bag much more compact. and i love the enclosed weights and durable feel... let's hope they last for yearssince i typically shoot with speedlights, i opted for a few of these lighter bags and when a heavy setup is needed, i just throw an extra one on the stand

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A light weight champ. I bought this sand bag to keep my environmental light set-up to keep from blowing over. It works fine, light enough to use at weddings. Works great on studio light stands with casters.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Great Small weight Bag This is a great little shot bag. Very well constructed. It has a super grippy surface on one side os the connecting piece that really grips well. Contains steel shot so it is MUCH more compact that a regular 5 LB bag. If you do not have a hook on your tripod, this will drape off off the top of the leg spread adjuster and not slip. I will defiantly be ordering more of these as well as a few of the larger weights.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best sandbags ever. I love these things. I also have the 10 and 15 pounders. They are very useful for lightstands. It's a good idea to have an assistant or shoot not far away from your studio/car because it will start to feel heavy after a while... that's the time to carry empty sandbags and fill them up on location. These are much more convenient to use than the empty sandbags, and I highly recommend them!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a handy weight! Hang it anywhere, and for additional utility, wrap it around just about any stand, tripod, boom or photo-thingy you're using. This weight is sleek, phenomenally well-constructed, and just plain super handy on location or in my studio. I genreally hate sand bags, hate lugging them, hate storing them, you get the picture. This weight bag is a joy to use.
