The black Sennheiser MKE 2 is a tough, subminiature omnidirectional lavalier microphone renowned for its dependable performance among industry professionals, including broadcast and field audio engineers, theater performers, presenters, and film/video crews. The mic’s dual-diaphragm design resists sweat and moisture, while the tiny size offers a discreet appearance that’s easy to conceal—even resisting contact and rustling noise when hidden in clothing and costumes.

With its wide 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency range and ability to handle up to 130 dB SPL, the MKE 2 lav provides clear, intelligible reproduction of speech, dialog, and vocals. The microphone's omnidirectional polar pattern picks up sound from 360° around the capsule, helping to deliver consistent levels, even when the talent turns away from the mic capsule.

The MKE 2 is available with several connector options to accommodate wireless transmitters and other compatible equipment. This model features an XLR connection for use with a wide variety of professional audio gear including portable audio recorders, mixers, interfaces, camcorders, cameras, and more. The mic requires 12 to 48V of phantom power to operate.

A frequency cap is supplied, allowing you to boost the high-end frequency response if desired.

I need a quality lavalier for recording training webinars and have read great things about MKE-2. I will feed lavalier into a Focusrite Scarlett Solo which has phantom power and XLR input. Will MKE-2 with XLR (this listing) plug directly into the Focusrite or do I need some kind of power converter btw the MKE-2 and the focusrite? Someone mentioned to me I need a MZA900P in-line preamp or a K6? Can someone clarify? Confused...

The MKE 2 P-C will ship with an XLR connection and will connect and work with the Focusrite interface when using phantom power. No additional preamp needed.

The sensitivity secifications for the Sennheiser MKE 2 Gold Series Lavlaier Microphone are as follows: in free field, no load (1kHz) 5 mV/Pa +- 3 dB.

The Zoom H4N is compatible with most lavaliers available, either connected to the XLR inputs on the bottom of the unit, or via the 3.5mm input jack at the top of the unit. The best lavalier would depend on a particular application.

No, this version with an XLR connector will not work with a G4 transmitter. You will need the Sennheiser MKE 2 Gold Series Subminiature Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone with Locking 3.5mm Connector (BH #SEMKE2EWG).

What type of 3.5mm adapter is recommended to connect this mic to rode wireless go transmitter?

The MKE 2 Gold Series Subminiature Omnidirectional Lavalier Mic is not compatible directly with the Wireless Go II transmitter, and would need a minimum of 12V phantom power via an external source in order to work. While this is possible, It would be much simpler and overall, cheaper, to just opt for a mic that is powered by the 3-5V Plug-in power supplied by the Wireless Go II transmitter.

If I have a zoom recorder, which can output 24 or 48 phantom power, which is better to choose for this mic or it doesn't matter?

The Sennheiser MKE 2 Gold Series Subminiature Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone with XLR Connector & MZ 2 Accessory Set accepts anywhere between 13 and 48 volts of phantom power. To avoid confusion when using the same input for other microphones, it might be simplest to use 48v.
