sturdy and stable. I can now use overhead lighting. Also, the knobs need only be turned slightly to grip; a big help when you are alone with heavy gear.

I should have ordered this a long time ago. Outstanding stand. Very sturdy. I use it with a Godox AD200 and any modifier I want. Just have to use some sandbags. Awesome.

The typical Matthews quality. Industry-standard, sturdy, well-made. If you need a c-stand with an adjustable leg, then this is your stand.

I work in film and TV and work with all types of C-stands. You know the ones that give me the least trouble? The Matthews. They are indestructible. The legs fold in and out with ease. The risers work smoothly. You get what you pay for in this business. Pay the little extra and get the stands that will last. Oh, and label them so you keep them!

question

can you mount a boom arm to this one ? and if so which one ?
Asked by: Anonymous
In place of the grip arm included with the stand, the Matthews Mini Boom (45-80"), B&H # MABMM can be used for holding heavier lights. It features a hook at the end to add a counterweight as well. https://bhpho.to/2kF8qkD

question

I own this stand, Matthews Hollywood Century C Stand Grip Arm Kit - 10.5' (3.2m)B&H # MALSC40HW MFR # 756040. I need an attachment to connect a PCB Einstein to the end, is anything compatible sold for this use?
Asked by: Joe
I don't think you need any special attachment. Just attach the strobe to the side of the arm without the knuckle on it. anything with a baby pin receptacle should fit on the c stand arm.

can i simply attach a aputure light to this stand or do I need more accessories like a ball head and sandbags?
Asked by: louis
You can attach almost any light to this stand, either to the arm or the column itself. You don't need a sandbag if you know the correct way to set up a c-stand, but it would be highly recommended. As a ex-professional grip walking around NYC observing shoots I can tell you few people truly understand how to use these stands correctly, so be sure to do you research!

question

I'm trying to understand the difference with this other model. Photos are identical and this one is $20 more expensive. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/301940-REG/Matthews_339567_Hollywood_Century_C_Pro.html Is it just Low Profile Base? I understand what that is. I am mainly buying this to shoot outdoors on uneven terrain. Is low profile base sturdier? Also I am not clear on what 2 risers mean.
Asked by: Marc B.
The only difference here is that B&H # MALSC40HW has a standard base while B&H # MALSC40HWC has a low profile base. Both stands have 2 risers, meaning 2 sections that allow height adjustment. For a more secure set up, I would go with B&H # MALSC40HW being that is has the larger base.
