SANUS BF31-B1 overview

  • 1Description

The Sanus 31" MDF Construction Speaker Stand is part of the Basic Foundations line which are constructed of MDF (medium density fibercore), the same material that most of the finest speakers in the world use.

Although a bit more expensive than plywood and particle board, MDF offers superior strength and immunity from resonance. Force-fit floor spikes further minimize resonance and provide stability in carpeting. Sanus's special triangular isolation pads are placed on the top plate for speaker protection and acoustic isolation.

ABS Spikes
Rely on the sturdy ABS plastic spikes to hold your speaker stand in place on carpeted floors.
Aesthetically Pleasing
The powder coated black finish looks sharp in any room and this durable finish also resists chipping and flaking so your sleek entertainment center will look good for a long time.
MDF Construction
By using MDF material in the construction of this speaker stand Sanus not only created a durable and sturdy stand, they also ensured that less speaker vibration would be produced, meaning less distortion for listeners.
Hidden Wires
A concealed wire path runs up the back of the stand, keeping all wires hidden from view and protected from children and pets.
Neoprene Pads
The platform comes with neoprene pads which protect your speakers and prevent accidental slippage but also provide acoustic isolation for a vibration-less audio experience.

    SANUS BF31-B1 reviews

31" MDF Construction Speaker Stand - Black - Pair is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 24.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREAT for the money! For the money, these are FANTASTIC. Be sure to NOT USE ANY POWER TOOLS!! If you do you will crack the wood. It is written on the directions but many negative reviews have to do with the wood cracking when people are trying to use drills to screw in the screws. I love how the speaker wire can be hidden inside the stands. I use fairly large Onkyo SKS-HT540 front speakers on these, they are fairly heavy, but they stay on perfectly once you put the little rubber feet down included with this speaker stand set. I even do plyometric exercising very close to these stands... on a fairly thick carpet, and they have not moved!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Just what I needed I decided to upgrade my surround sound system with a set of Elac Debut B6's so I ordered a pair of these. With a 1 year old daughter running around, I was at first a bit worried by the small area at the top of the stand but their wide base makes them very stable as long as the speakers are balanced well. The back plates to hide the wire way should be a few inches longer so that there isn't such a large gap at the rear. They perform well and they've got my girlfriend's approval for aesthetics. With a wider speaker platform and longer back covers, they would be perfect. They worked well enough that I purchased another pair for my surrounds.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BF31 Booklshelf Stands I brought these having brought the 24 inch tall model to use for my back surrounds speakers. Simple and easy to put together. Unfortunately trying to push the plastic carpet spikes in the hole. I managed to brake them. But Sanus has incredible customer support. Their representative sent me a whole new set of replacement spikes plus a new base.for my stand. Awesome! Great look. Fits in any decor. Highly Recommended.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Could be built better Typical ikea style veneered MDF. The finish has a little texture which is nice. The top is kind of on the smaller side for real bookshelf speakers, but the rubber corners help hold the speaker enough that it still works. My biggest issue was the hardware & predrilled holes. They stripped very easy to the point one stand was so wobbly and unusable. I used some 2-1/2 drywall screws and it fixed it right up. Also the speaker wire hole diameter & location is only useful for something like 24-gauge wire, maybe 18-gauge. One of my vertical pieces came with a split in it. Fixed it with some superglue & clamp.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Stands for satellites I purchased 2 pairs of these BF31 along with the NFAV230. These speaker stands were perfect for my satellite speakers, Mirage nanosats to be exact. You cant beat these basic stands for the asking price. They are well made, top notch quality, sturdy and even have cable management to hide your speaker wires. If you're looking for some quality stands at a great price, these stands are for you!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product. I use them for my front speakers of the Yamaha 7.1 channel home theater system. The construction is sturdy, and the material is solid. I was actually impressed with the quality of the material they used for the speaker stands when I was putting them together. This prompted me to look into other products of Sanus, such as TV stands.... Price was very reasonable. Overall a great experience.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid construction - decent value Easy to assemble. Use hand tools. No need to overtighten screws and risk stripping or splitting. Parts fit together well -- holes lined-up. Design and finish aren't glamorous or fancy, but I'm satisfied. Since I have hardwood floors, I didn't use the carpet spikes. There was no alternative foot or pad for the base included, so I had to use some thick, stick-on felt chair leg pads.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Budget Speaker Stands, Best Of All I literally tried almost all the budget speaker stands one can purchase on the Internet and these are the best amongst them, I will give to this my pair a 5 star rating. My pair arrived in a extremely well done and solid package, the indication Malaysia - written on the label Made in, (and not China as I was expecting) was a nice surprise, my pair assembling took me merely 10-min (8 screws per stand, Attention : the screw driver is not included). The MDF paint finish and overall construction were OK, I do not have complains on that. I was planning to use this my pair with my AudioEngine A5+ powered speakers (10.75 H x 7 x 9) : these sit now comfortably on top of the upper plates. The base plate is much larger, which is a design I appreciate, it adds stability. I am on hard floor so I do not use the supplied plastic-made spikes but squared 2 x 2 absorbing pads instead that I cut out from a thick mouse pad. These pads isolate well the stands from the floor : the vibration, which are induced by the speaker woofers, are not transmitted to the floor. The design is quite attractive, the stand paint mat finish does not reflect any light as it happen with stands made from lacquered glasses. (This is important if one plans to use these budget stands within a home theater system.) I cannot be more happy with this my pair in terms of value for money.
