    Impact RST001 Reviews

PS Posing Stool (20-30-) is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 170.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from You will get what you pay for We purchased 4 of the Impact Posing Stools in the past, almost one per year. All 4 of them show the same problem, that is, the seat goes all the way up by itself. You push it all the way down but it will go up again soon after. I sent photos of these broken stools to the manufacture Their answer was 'Your products may be defective', which means all 4 stools we purchased in the last 5 years or so are all defective? This stool may work for a couple of months. You will get what you pay for. Don't recommend it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Problem out of the box It took me about 2 minutes to open the box, unpack the contents and assemble it. It was a major disappointment after that to discover that the lever used to raise and lower the seat was not properly assembled/manufactured at the factory. It wasn't pivoting at the right place (it was just flopping around) and not engaging the pneumatic release. For all intents and purposes, this stool was useless. I would have returned it for a refund, but I wasn't able to disassemble it - the cylinder once put together is very difficult to take apart. In the end, I took the cushioned seat apart and fixed the problem. I certainly don't expect to have to do this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Stool I actually bought this for astronomical observing with a refractor (which can involve significant differences in the height of the eyepiece between the horizon and the zenith). This stool worked perfectly with it's 10 range of adjustment. It's more range than some of the observing stools sold specifically for the purpose, and at a much better price. It's a bit less portable because it doesn't fold up, but that was a very minor downside. If space in your vehicle is really tight, you can always break it down into it's 3 components (column, seat and base), and then snap it back together when you get to the observing site. Really a great value.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid Value I looked at several other brands that seemed similar, but this one was less than half the price of the others. Because of that, I sort of expected cheap and flimsy construction, but I was pleased to see that it is actually very solid and well made. The pneumatic height adjustment is smooth and has a very useful range. The base and legs are also very solid and sturdy, and the cushion is well padded, comfortable, and seems quite durable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Exceptional Value, Quality Product This lightweight posing stool is perfect for me to take on location. It collapses into a portable, lightweight piece of equipment. The legs are made to have another posing stool fit in between for tight shots. This is one piece of equipment that I can't live without!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great stool, great value I found this stool to exceed my expectations. Not having casters, it stays put, and I don't have to worry about my client sliding away. The 10 height range is great to place the client at the height I want, far more flexible than a standard back-less office stool. It's very sturdy -- I recently had a plus size client (honestly 400 lbs) who had no issue sitting on the stool comfortably while I did some head shots. To ice the cake, B&H's price was better than that very long river in South America.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product! I bought this stool as a kit w/ a posing table. This stool is easy to assemble and is of good quality. It is comfortable and versatile. This stool comes with casters, not wheels. At first, I did not like that as I thought it would be an annoyance. After I spent a day shooting my nieces and nephews (all very young) and watching them spin and spin on the stool while I changed setups, I was thankfull that the stool stayed in place. This is also a safety issue as you don't want to worry about a client losing balance as a wheel begins to roll causing your client to fall. If you shoot studio, you do really need a posing stool and table for that matter. This product will suit your needs.

What is the maximum weight rating for this chair?
    Asked by: Anonymous
I don't know the actual weight limit but use it for pre-school mostly. I've had people over 200# sit on it as well with no worries.

How much does this stool weigh?

The stool weights 9 pounds and 3 ounces. I am using this as a shooing stool for 34 inch high shooting benches. It works great but only on the lowest height setting.

    Can casters be added?
    Asked by: Steve S.
I bought the table and stool together. The table had casters, and the stool had little feet. Didn't make sense to me so I put the casters on the stool, and the feet on the table. The casters are a standard, and you should be able to buy them at a hardware store. If you are going that route, get the casters before you assemble the stool and use them instead if the feet. Whatever you mount in the base will be almost impossible to remove.
