SANUS Steel Series Reviews

Very heavy and nice stands. Horrible instructions!

Very nice heavy and attractive stand that features two verticle pipes that are not easily desernable in the one image. Instructions are terrible. One large diagram that shows how all the pieces go together would go a long way in eliminating the pain of trial and error. Also, no internal cable management. And contrary to what the booklet says, there is no apparent way to add sand or lead shot into pipes without going to a machine shot and having holes drilled to do so. Other than that, very nice quality. Some minor fixes to get to 5 stars!

Built to last

Had these delivered and I’m glad, they are heavy. Built to last, my daughter will end up with them someday. Instructions were tough to follow, but you’ll figure them out. Drilled out one hole to add 3.25 lbs sand to each pipe. They are solid and look great!

Solid stands

Follow the directions and they build up solid. Skip the wire guides and use black zip ties. Lubricate the spiked feet before insertion. These are 30” tall with the spikes fully extended. Your couch may be taller.

Heavy Duty for my Surround Speakers

I was setting up a new surround system and was wanting to move my surround speakers since the ones in the ceiling were hard to hear.  I decided to mount the speakers behind the couch and point them at the side walls so the reflections were at ear level (one side is all windows so I couldnt mount the speakers).  Found these stands that are 30 tall which is just right and built very well.  I went with the steel version for the added stability and they are great.  Easy to assemble and all tools required (allen hex) were included.  The surround now sounds like it comes from the side walls, even though one side is windows.

Nice, but needed modifying to fit my speakers.

I like the stands; they're sturdy and look nice. One issue though: I have Paradigm 15B bookshelf speakers and I had the take the stands to a machine shop to have two holes drilled in each stand, in order to fit the holes in the speakers. Also had to get a couple extra bolts from the hardware store.
