I'm confused by the questions regarding a head. I limited my search for tripod LEGS only, not legs AND a head. So does this unit have a head that comes with the tripod legs? or do you buy the head separately? N.b. I don't want the head. Thanks.
Asked by: Breck
Hello, I bought mine a little while ago but I chose the head to go with the legs. It is possible to buy the legs on their own. The product you want is this: 475B Pro Geared Tripod with Geared Column I hope that helps. Best rgds Simon

question

The description says there is an optional ball/pan head. The photo shows a flat head. I want to buy the 502HD 75mm half ball head. Will it fit this tripod? Do I need to buy an optional thingamajig to make it work? Thanks.

Being that the 475B has a flat base with a 3/8-16” thread, you would need an adapter such as th ProMediaGear 75mm Bowl Adapter (6"), B&H# PRTRHH2 which will convert the 75mm half bowl connection to the 3/8-16” flat base connection. https://bhpho.to/2k0NW5N

Is theere any information how to remove the head ...

Is theere any information how to remove the head from these legs? I purchased one with the head, but id like to use it for a slider.
Asked by: L Ben
Typically you just unscrew the head from the legs. Make sure the panning lock is tight, then unscrew, there maybe some grub screws below the head platform, in which case the must be backed out in order to remove the head.

Will a DSLR attach to this mount?

Will a DSLR attach to this mount?
Asked by: Lora-Lynn
No, it will not. This tripod has a 3/8"-16 mount, meant for tripod heads rather than for cameras to be mounted directly. We'd recommend an equally heavy-duty tripod head to take full advantage of the Manfrotto Pro Geared 475B tripod's incredible sturdiness. https://bhpho.to/3s72fWO https://bhpho.to/3pJ0V9O

Is there a nut with a ring that can be purchased in order to hang sand bag from the center?
Asked by: Gary
Unfortunately there is no accessory nut or hook but you could use this apron to hang a sandbag: https://bhpho.to/2oVsznB

question

After buying this(not yet), what else should I buy to make a whole camera supporting system? The product image shows a big hole in the middle.
Asked by: ZH X.
This is for a tripod only, you will need to add a head to the top. If you are shooting photography the Sirui K-40X Ball Head is a great choice. For Video we suggest the Manfrotto 502AH Pro Video Head with Flat Base. Ball Head - https://bhpho.to/2kFfCZP Fluid Head - https://bhpho.to/2bKwVVJ

question

Will the flat base 502HD video head fit on this tripod? Thanks!
Asked by: Lam
Yes, it will. It has a flat base with a 3/8 male screw. The good thing on this tripod is that you can lower it to a 16.9 height, the bad one it's weight: 9.5 lb. Too heavy to carry-on all day. Setup time in sloping terrains will take longer than a tripod with ball head.

question

Received it today, how do I attach a sand bag to it? Might be a no brainer but what screws onto the bottom column?
Asked by: Gary
I have to admit, I do not know. The tripod is so heavy and stable I've never needed to use a sandbag. Once you get it locked down, it is rock solid. The screw coming out of the bottom is a standard 3/8 thread and my bet is someone makes a hook that threads onto it allowing you to attach a sandbag. Check with B&H and see if such a hook is available.
