The Lyre Mount with Pistol Grip Handle from Rycote allows for handheld operation of shotgun microphones, or for boompole mounting with the 3/8"-16 threading at the base of the grip. It offers isolation against many forms of disturbances including handling noise when handheld, stand mounted, or when mounted on a boompole. The mount accommodates microphones with a 0.7 to 1.3" (19 to 34mm) diameter and is designed to fit MKH microphones.

Any Problems with using an Sennheiser MKH 60?

Shouldn't be a problem- From the specifications page, the Pistol Grip accepts microphones from 19mm to 34mm. in diameter. The MKH 60 falls in the middle of the range at 25mm in diameter.

Yes, you can use any brand of XLR cable or make your own if you prefer. Thin cable is recommended since thicker cable does not fit properly. You can purchase the Rycote Mic Tail Short XLR Cable (B&H # RY017018) which is a 40cm cable that is compatible for use with the Softie Lyre Mount and Pistol Grip.
