Studio Dynamics 56SHAMI overview

  • 1Description

Studio Dynamics canvas backgrounds are functional and aesthetically pleasing. Beyond the thoughtful design, every backdrop is also the product of the dedication to quality. Each backdrop is carefully painted by hand with exquisite style and the finest craftsmanship by American artists. Canvas backdrops are made of heavy cotton canvas and paints specially mixed for elasticity and durability. This backdrop should last for decades.

This background comes ready to be used with a background stand, such as the Bogen/Manfrotto AutoPole System, Savage Porta Stand, or Photogenic Background Support System. It has a core at the top, for use with a crossbar. The piece of wood molding on the bottom acts as a counterweight.

Colors depicted may vary slightly, due to differences in computer monitors, printed media, and variances in manufacturer's dyes or paints.

For use with a background support system.
The material has a flat, smooth look.
Canvas is durable, long lasting and easily cleaned.

    Studio Dynamics 56SHAMI reviews

Canvas Background, Studio Mount - 5x6' - Hamilton is rated 2.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not exactly what I expected I'll admit this is the first hand-painted canvas I've purchased, and perhaps my concerns are just the way it is. The description says it has a core at the top for use with a crossbar. The core is a cardboard tube duct taped to the canvas. I was expecting a sewn channel in the material itself. It seems to me the duct tape will come off either the canvas or the cardboard, or pull the cardboard apart eventually. This does not seem to be a very portable canvas, despite the instructions suggesting using their carrying case. The surface scratches easily when un-/re-rolling - a fingernail leaves a mark. Really need two people to do it carefully. Again, maybe I should have expected this. I do appreciate the velcro straps that are attached to the canvas which help to secure the canvas when rolled up. The heavy tube it was shipped in had a plastic cap on one end, but the other end was just stuffed with paper and taped shut - another plastic cap would have been nice. How am I to transport this thing? Oh yeah, buy one of Studio Dynamics's carrying cases, of course. It's unfortunate that it is non-returnable, but it's understandable: the canvas gets damaged just unpacking it, so who'd want to get it back?
