Kodak Professional Ektachrome E100 Color Transparency Film (120 Roll Film, 5-Pack)
Key Features
  • Daylight-Balance Color Transparency Film
  • ISO 100/21° in E-6 Process
  • Extremely Fine Grain Structure
  • Vibrant Colors and Low D-Min
Kodak Professional Ektachrome E100 is a daylight-balanced color transparency film characterized by its extremely fine grain structure, vibrant color rendering, and overall low contrast profile. The lower contrast values contribute to a wide dynamic range and a neutral tonal scale for greater color accuracy, and a low D-min helps to ensure brighter, whiter whites. It has a medium-speed nominal sensitivity of ISO 100/21° when developed in E-6 process and the smooth grain profile pairs with a micro-structure optimized T-GRAIN emulsion to make it especially well-suited to scanning applications.

Does this film require the use of a 81a, b or c filter when shooting in the shade or under the clouds?
Asked by: Robert
In my experience, shooting at altitudes above 7,000 feet will definitely benefit from an 81b for open shade, though I don't find a filter necessary under clouds. Likewise, the same filter can greatly benefit your images that are shot just after sunset. More than other transparency films, E100 seems to be very sensitive to blue and UV light in certain situations; though initially expensive, some test shooting is ultimately worthwhile.

who processes this film?

who processes this film?
Asked by: Alan G
I recommend Alpine Camera in Des Plaines IL, I used probably 10 different "reputable" labs in Chicago area and they are the only one that do Ektachrome correctly, without color shift, rusty shadows, gunk and stains or scratches. Other labs kept ruining my slide films, most moved to digital prints and don't care about film any more.
