Yamaha NS-777 overview

  • 1Description

The Yamaha NS-777 250W Floorstanding Speaker (Single, Black) is a 3-way floorstanding speaker. It has dual 8" woofers, a 5" midrange driver, and 1" Aluminium Dome tweeter. The system features a Highly Oriented Polyolefine design for improved transient response, higher power handling, and flatter frequency response. The speaker is magnetically shielded to allow placement near a TV without distorting the image.

Highly Oriented Polyolefine (HOP)
A better material for better sound. The dynamic range of Dolby Digital sound tracks places stringent demands on the speakers that reproduce it. That's why they developed an exclusive loudspeaker cone material: Highly Oriented Polyolefine (HOP). It's extraordinarily strong, yet amazingly lightweight (up to 30 times more rigid, per unit weight, than polypropylene). You get dynamic sound with low distortion and extraordinary transient response. HOP cone material combines high strength, low weight and low resonance, resulting in improved transient response, higher power handling and flatter frequency response.
Matched Drivers
With the Dolby Digital system, the surround channels are reproduced in full stereo, with the same full frequency response and dynamic range as the front. These receivers are built with just as much power to the surround channels as to the front. And that's why their speaker systems offer the same quality, front and rear.
Magnetic Shielding
Speakers placed too close to the TV can cause the pictures to bend and colors to bleed. That's why these bookshelf, floor-standing, front and center speakers all incorporate magnetic shielding. It cancels out magnetic fieldsand resulting interference. You can place the speakers anywhere - even directly beside your TV - without picture distortions and degradations.

    Yamaha NS-777 reviews

NS-777 250W Floorstanding Speaker (Single, Black) is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful I'm a recording engineer / producer, and I typically bring my mixes home to play on these before finalizing. They're set up in my home theater system where they are the L,R speakers, set up in a LEFT, CENTER, RIGHT configuration. I don't use a sub with these - it's really not needed as they go way down. They sound wonderful, and I couldn't be happier.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love them!! Love them, love them love them! Did I mentioned that I loved them?? These speakers sound great, especially for the price. You are getting more than what you pay for. With the right receiver and a sub, your house will vibrate!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best for the buck. These are full range in a beautiful finish for $. They are rated at 6 ohms.I have these bi wired to a Yamaha S801 amp using pure direct and set for low impedance and they play vinyl perfectly.Might add a matching subwoofer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pretty impressive... Well, to start off, I bought these Speakers from@ for a pretty good price. I've wanted these speakers when I was young, and a few years later was lucky to acquire them. The very first thing that caught my eye was their nice sleek design. The exterior was built out of the same material yamaha applies on their grand pianos. Smooth, glossy, black and reflective... I must say it was an eyegasm for me. ( Auditioning ) I decided to try them out and put them through mulitple genres and music styles. Enya, Andrea Bocelli, Libera, Delerium, Nickleback, Paramore, and many others were tested on these. I was quite satisfied with it. Bass was tightly produced, and not overwhelming or boomy, blended in very well. Mids were there, though maybe I might want to bump them up a bit on the equalizer, and the highs are shiny yet not painful to listen to. In general, this speaker produced pretty good sound for the price. Now it is a Yamaha, and with the couple of songs that I have tested, I smiled and frowned, smiled and frowned, with every skip i did on my mp3 player. Yamaha had written a description on their site, that these speakers provide the quality that you put into them. In other words, if your music is low bitrate or recorded harshly, thats what you will hear on these. So if you do listen to the music, don't get all kfjklsdjf just because they sound poor, and intsead take a look at your bitrate. Now I know these speakers cannot be compared to the Klipsch, B&W, or Monitor Audio, but I'd say that these are quite nice for a beginner. I am however interested in the future to dive into the Klipsch category, and indulge for the first time with their sound....
