Raynox DCR-250 Reviews
Great deal
This lens attachment exceeded my expectations. It enabled me to use a smaller lighter lens to take macro shots

Wife loves it for closeup with her Rebel T2i
Does what its supposed to do
With Olympus 60mm macro (M43) - - good and bad
Attaching this to the Olympus 60mm M43 macro lens. Advantages: you get somewhat closer to the subject Disadvantages: it's a total personality change for the 60mm macro lens. 1. Your depth of field drops to extremely small. Don't even think of shooting without a tripod (or a firm rest on a table). Even so, you only get a little sliver of a usable image unless you use focus stacking. 2. Your focal range is extremely narrow. You have to be (approximately) between 3 and 5 inches from the subject. So, a big change from the freewheeling ease-of-use of the 60mm on its own which can focus anywhere from (approximately) 7 inches to infinity, take photos handheld (as long as you don't want focus stacking), and give good images basically with no effort. Still, if you desperately want to get closer closer CLOSER macro (to which I plead guilty), this will help.
Easy to use and effective!
I use this with a Canon 55-250mm lens and it works great for insect macro photos! Very easy to use. My only qualm is that the cap is a bit annoying to remove.
Works well with some lenses
I got it for my regular zoom lenses so I don't have bring a second lens just for macro. It works okay with the 18-135 aps-c, and less than okay with 70-350 aps-c. It rocks with the Laowa 65 2x when I need 2:1.
Big macro help
Ideal for your macro shots, Obviously getting the extra magnification has a cost, depth of field and chromatic aberration will come with it, but for small details is a must, post edition- cropped image will fix any issue. Highly recommend.
Raynox DCR-250 2.5x Super Macro Lens
I use the lens with various lenses on my Lumix G85 and quite happy with the results so far. I have to use a tripod, my hands are not steady enough to use the lens without one. I envy those who can use this lens without a tripod. Since the price is cheap enough, it's a lens that you cannot miss if you want to dabble in macrophotography.
