This device allows you to digiscope with your Kowa TSN-60*, TSN-66* and TSN-82* series 60mm, 66mm or 82mm spotting scope. You'll still need to use an eyepiece with your spotting scope. Additionally, if you intend to use the TSEZ7 or TSEZ7B 20-60x eyepieces, you'll need the TSNDA1ARZ7 Extension Ring as well.
To use the DA1, just affix it to the outside of your scope's eyepiece, attach a TSN-AR adapter ring to your camera's filter threads, then attach camera + TSN-AR ring to the DA10. If your camera does not accept filters, you can use the TSN-DA4 bracket in much the same way (B&H sells the DA1 with TSN-DA4 as one item, B&H item code "KOUCAK", for less than the two items seperately).
The focal length of your digiscoping combination is based on the focal length of your digital camera's lens while in use and the eyepiece's magnification. So if you were using a 100mm digital camera lens and a 20x eyepiece, the combination would produce a focal length equivalent to 2000mm.
All ventures in the world of digiscoping require the use of a sturdy tripod, first and foremost. You must take great care to keep vibrations during exposure to an absolute minimum. Employing a cable release, electronic release or remote control for tripping the shutter is absolutely necessary. And while it is not necessary per se, the TSN-DA3 Mounting Bracket will do wonders to reduce vibrations of your rig.
