Kowa TSN-602 overview

  • 1Description

Kowa enjoys a spectacular reputation of enduring quality internationally, where there are large numbers of nature enthusiasts.

Kowa's line of 60mm spotting scopes, including their TSN-602 60mm Spotting Scope, represents the best of ultra-compact scopes with interchangeable eyepieces. They offer fully multi-coated lenses and nitrogen purging for waterproofed protection. These are finely crafted, exquisite pieces that'll astound you with their quality.

It is entirely a matter of personal preference best determined by experience, but many feel that straight scopes offer a more intuitive way to locate your subject quickly. They're usually a bit lighter than their angled counterparts, and almost always less expensive as well.

Main lens composed from environmentally friendly, lead-free "eco-glass"
Full multi-coatings on all lenses and prisms
O-ring seals at coupling point of eyepiece
Quick-aiming sightline aids in object locating
Sliding sunshade shields unnecessary light and raindrops while providing protection for the front element (which has a 67mm filter thread)
Adaptable to 35mm SLR cameras, digital cameras, and video cameras with optional photo adapter

    Kowa TSN-602 reviews

TSN-602 60mm Spotting Scope (Straight Viewing, Requires Eyepiece) is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from An excellent Scope 99.9% perfect. This scope is incredible and for the money it can't be beat. With the excellent TSE-Z9B 20x-60x zoom eyepiece, there is crisp clarity and a wide field of view through out the zoom range. The compact size and weight make it ideal for back country use. The only thing that keeps it from being absolutely perfect is a slight chromatic aberration at 60x cause with a slight blue halo around bright high contrast objects (you can only see it if you actually look for it). A polarizing filter seems to take it away. I would buy it again and recommend it to anyone who asked. As good as any Swarovski of Leica in standard glass at a third the price and two thirds the weight, can't beat it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This scope delivers This is the third Kowa scope I've owned over the years and it doesn't disappoint. Good quality optics combined with low weight makes this a winner in my mind. The fact I already have eyepieces that fit this scope also helps greatly. I use this scope for international style rifle shooting, mostly to read mirage. Sometimes I actually have to see shots in the paper but that is less common these days. I wanted a straight through version of the Kowa 60mm scope and this one is great.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from TSN-602 Was good but not better than anything else in it's price range or a much older scope I own. To spend that much money it's pointless not to spend another 200 and get the ED glass.
