Kodak 5160338 Reviews

Hypo Clearing Agent is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 37.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Kodak HCA and platinum prints It's not just for silver prints and film! You can use HCA to clear platinum, palladium, and Ziatype palladium prints. Two sequential 5-10 minute immersions (depending on the thickness of the paper) in HCA removes the unused iron salts as effectively as the traditional and time-consuming EDTA and citric acid baths, and in much less time than these treatments, so you finish sooner and your paper doesn't come apart as badly. If you're using one of those fine-art stocks that looks more like poster board, you may have to use longer times. HCA is also less toxic.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Product I Have Been Using For 40 Years. I use Kodak HCA to reduce wash times and insure that there will be no stains when I tone prints. It is easy to mix from powder and adds very little time to print processing. It is not recommended for Pyro processing of film.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Essential part of my darkroom for years. For over 20 years I have been using the good old Kodak Hypo clearing agent in it's signature yellow package. It is an essential part of my B&W darkroom. My only wish is that Kodak would make a 1 liter package like back than.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for home developing Using Hypo Clear is one of the easiest ways to save water in a home lab, where temperature control and water bills are limiting factor. Without hypo clear, I would have to wash fix off the film for waaay longer than I'm willing. A single 17 oz. bag is enough to make 5 gallons of hypo, and you can reuse it until it expires or gets gross. Affordable, convenient, and efficient! #sweepstakes

Is this powder or liquid concentrate? If it's powder, what's the weight/water ratio?
Asked by: Anonymous
The package contains a fine powder, that dissolves easily. Sometimes it takes a bit of stirring, or you might try warmer water. The package makes a gallon of stock solution, which is mixed 1:4 for working solution.
