FUJIFILM FP-100C Reviews

Great color, but a little off on ISO

The color quality from this film is fantastic for what I want. It has good contrast, decent shadow/highlight retention for what it is. My biggest gripe is the ISO rating. In my experience with this film, I have to overexpose by 1/2-full stop to get the correct exposure. The prints scan well. Time to develop and time to dry are kind of a pain, but it's manageable. As an aside, I've read that this film is self terminating, meaning that as long as it has enough development, you can leave it until it's convenient to be peeled apart. In my experience, the overdevelopment is somewhat problematic. It's best to peel apart at as close to the specified time as possible. I haven't yet tried it, but I'm planning to experiment with bringing a blotter book along for shooting outdoors so I can peel apart the film and give it someplace to dry without adhering itself to paper fibers of a notebook or collect dust/pollen from the ambient air.

I used this instant film to preview how the image will look like. Good way to preview it and then photograph with a negative sheet for better results.

I used this instant fiolm to preview how my final image will look like. I use this prior shooting in negative film so I am sure how the image will look like. It sames money and avoids frustations when developing the film and not getting the results you expected.

Test for 4x5 film shots Reciprocity failure matches Tri-x Expensive - should be at least 30% cheaper

As good as Polaroid

I've been using this type of film for landscape imagery over 20 years, and this is my first run with Fuji's FP-100c used with a Toyo 45a. It loads easily, the color and tonal range are beautiful and accurate and my scans from it turned out well. Now, using Schneider glass on My 4 by 5 and then scanning a high-res image with an Epson scanjet may have something to do with these results, but the film itself is gorgeous, it is very crisp and renders great shadow and highlight details.

wonderful!

Using this for test shots paired with Kodak 100 Ektar film, and the results are practically identical to the images produced with the film.

I use Fuji's 4x5 pack film for several applications. This film is very versatile, and is great for anything from experimental processes (emulsion transfers, lifts, instant negatives) to professional use on a 4x5 camera. It is always consistent and reliable, with wonderful, accurate colors.

question

When is your batch expire?
Asked by: Anonymous
B&H buys and sells film in bulk. In general we regularly maintain fresh film stock. All of our film is at least 6 months from expiration (typically much longer). Anytime film stock is less than 6 months from expiration we sell it in a separate section and label it as short-dated film and also price it with a slight discount (again due to the volumes we sell this rarely occurs). Unfortunately we do not have access to our inventory to hand inspect the expiration date of any of our films prior to purchase.

Is this Type 100 film that will work in a Polaroid Countdown 70 Land Camera?
Asked by: Anonymous
Unfortunately, the Fujifilm FP-100C Professional Instant Color Film ISO 100 would not be compatible with the Polaroid Countdown 70 Land Camera. Unfortunately, we do not currently carry film that would be compatible with the Polaroid Countdown 70 Land Camera. I do apologize for the inconvenience.
