    Westcott 1022 reviews

    30" 6-in-1 Reflector Kit is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Price vs. quality sweet spot I compared the Westcott products to those made by Lastolite and Photoflex. I chose the Westcott because of the quality of construction vs. price. I am mostly using the silver reflector for head and shoulder portraits, but like the options the zip-on fabrics offer. 30 is a good size for hand-held use. I would like to get another one of these in the largest size eventually. Initially I planned on buying a round Photoflex 5-in-1, but decided against it because of the round shape (harder to prop up on the ground, might roll away) and because some online posts said the larger round style reflectors can bow or waffle in the middle. The Lastolite products seemed to be of equal or better quality than Westcott, and may be easier to clip to extension arms due to the built in handle, but are too expensive for my immediate needs. Opening the zippered storage case, I was pleased to see that the diffuser panel in the Westcott kit is actually a second translucent white frame which the other color fabrics zip around. The panel self expands via tension in the spring frame. You can pull it out of the bag and throw it on the ground and it pops open. The springs are tight enough they may frustrate you the first few times you try folding the panel up (although square it folds into a circular shape about 1/3 its size). The only negative is that even when collapsed it is too wide to fit in my light stand bag or small camera backpack.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Many options in a small package Picked this up many years ago and really have been enjoying its usefulness. I decided on this rounded square version which makes it easier to prop up against something and stay still. Very good construction. The edges are very rugged. Not too thick to get between dedicated holders or clamps. Tip: Pick up a second one (I just did this myself) to enjoy faster setup time and more options at your fingertips. Between the two, I now have 1- and 2-stop diffussion panels uncovered. The 2nd set of the panels are then wrapped with the gold/silver and sunlight/black covers respectively.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great kit! This kit is durable and has a nice carrying bag. The handle loops on the rings are nice to have. The black side is nice if you are in a situation with completely diffused light and you want to create some shadowing. For example, if the sky is overcast and there is snow on the ground, your subject will not have any shadowing. If you want some, then use black. I highly recommend this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent! This system is just the right size and will fit easily in a backpack. Very versatile when traveling. The whole kit is a bit bulky when collapsed, but I would tend to just bring the diffusion deflector when traveling. If you reading this, you already know how these reflectors can be used. Very sturdy construction. 5 stars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this kit! I was looking for a set of good quality reflectors to fit my daypack and my budget and these fit the bill. I like that they are square not round - easier to prop up. Nice generous size without being too big. Even includes a black side. About 13 diameter when folded. Seem to be sturdy and well made.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from You get what you pay for! I was very impressed with my purchase. The reflectors are sturdy and well built. All folded up in included case. The how-to video did not give any needed info, so don't count on it for advice. Over all I am happy with my purchase, a little more than I wanted to spend, but well worth it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I recommend this product whole heartedly I found that I needed a reflector for my beach scenes and this was a great compact easily portable product that meets all my needs. Its a bit tricky folding it back up at first but once you use it a few times its easy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Real World Versitillity & Usablity Allows for GREAT light control! Bouncing and reflecting light, the +1 diffusion panel helps soften stobes and providing a more natural soft light exposure.
