    Behringer DEQ2496 reviews

DEQ2496 Digital EQ is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 18.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great in a 2-channel Audiophile System Use for system EQ in my audiophile setup. Works like a charm. Has hardwire bypass so you can determine if it's adding any coloration. I don't hear any with my system. My system has a Pro sound amp so I use the XLR jacks.I let it auto EQ my system in stereo so there is no degradation in imaging or channel balance. When I let the Behringer auto EQ the L & R speakers separately, one channel was 2 dB louder. In stereo auto EQ mode (default factory setting), imaging and channel balance are perfect; actually better than without the EQ.An excellent product, with a bit of a learning curve. Optional ECM8000 mic is needed to use the RTA.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AWESOME! I bought this as part of my Black Magic Designs ATEM TVS switcher rack design, and it works wonderfully, sounds great, delays the audio perfectly, and I'm very happy with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from works like it is supposed to I purchased this impressive device several weeks ago, and it has taken me about that long to figure out all the features on this thing. Don't misunderstand me, the manual is well written, and the controls all make sense. There are simply that many useful features. the auto EQ works well (you do need to put up with about a minuet of loud pink noise) but then your eq is corrected for the speakers and the room. The feedback finder is also a useful however loud feature. All in all, seems to be a really good product for the price. I haven't used it live yet, but will repost with results

Rated 5 out of 5 by from All you'll ever need in an equalizer I use this equalizer in my home stereo system and have been very pleased with it. It makes my system (2.1 with HSU speakers) sound incredible and offers the home audio enthusiast a truly complete toolbox for changing the sound of his or her system. Auto EQ with the Behringer reference mic is super easy, and each of the filters, such as the parametric EQ, offer more than enough granularity for the finest, barely perceptible adjustments. For someone with an EE, signal processing, or audio engineering background, the unit's controls are very intuitive. The manual, however, is not particularly easy to follow, and doesn't offer good explanations of what each of the filters do. I am constantly interested in upgrading components of my audio system; this equalizer is not something that I will need to upgrade.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from At $, it is being given away I bought it first as an RTA and equalizer. After a while, I kicked out my existing pre-amp, and now just use the Ultracurve between my (SA)CD player and the amplifiers. You can read my substantial and in-depth review at @ It is way too long to quote here.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent low-price Digital EQ I am using this product in a Hi-Fi stereo setup (Magnepan MMG, Halfler 500, Pioneer Elite C-91, two Audio Pro 100W subs, REL Stadium). I have to say that the unit has endless configuration possibilities, and I cannot find any discernable audio signature (i.e. very clean). The Auto-EQ is what I use, and it solved my sound balancing issues. Highly recommended. This same usit was used by many High End copanies at a recent CES (so I've read). My only compalint is it would be nice if the unit was 24bit/192Khz to decode DVD audio.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Arrived DOA I'm awaiting my replacement unit - the first was DOA. Behringer has a reputation for this sort of thing; a shame because it is an amazingly capable unit.
