I use this with mini grip heads on nano stands to support my Matthews Roadrags. They are awesome and portable! Beats having to lug around c stands.

question

Is the 20 Matthews arm 5/8 or 3/8 in diameter? Also is it steel like the grip arms? How does it's strength compare to the Matthews grip arms?
Asked by: Daniel
Actually I bought it for a friend abroad and here's his answer:This item is a 3/8 very thin wall (about 1/2mm or less) pipe, probably steel, filled with some kind of foam; it does not compare with Matthews grip arms (like the 40 which I have) in terms of strength. Please let me know if you need additional details

question

Where can I find an arm like this that is the standard diameter of the grip arms? Would like just the rod with out the grip head attached to hold a Einstein. I see people using the 40 but that too long for my needs.

The best solution is to buy a ? OD heavy wall aluminum tubing from ZORO. They sell it in various lengths but I bought 2 each 6' lengths and cut it into assorted sizes. Shipping was prompt and reasonable although I don't remember the exact cost. Pair that with an Impact or a Matthew's Hollywood grip and a Manfrotto counter weight for a very versatile rig.
