This is a Lowel Basically 3 Kit. It combines two of the most popular fixtures in the Lowel line-up--the Tota-light floodlight, and the Omni-light focusing flood. This kit is equipped for 120V AC current.

Compact, rugged and versatile, the broad-throw Tota-light can be used with its umbrella or gel frame and diffusion as a soft key light, fill light, or backlight. With its adjustable reflectors, it can be a smooth and even background light, or point it at the ceiling to raise the ambient (base) light level of a room. Tota-lights are also widely used for photographic copy work.

The wide focusing range of the Omni-light makes it a flexible key light or backlight. Add diffusion or an umbrella, and it's a soft fill source. Available with a host of accessories and built for heavy-duty long life, the popular Omni is the perfect companion to the Tota.

Each Tota-light will emit a beam of 41 footcandles with the barndoors at normal position, and 34 footcandles with the barndoors at 180° position, from a distance of 10' (3 m).

When fitted with a 500W bulb and standard reflector, the Omni-light will emit a beam of 75 footcandles at full flood, and 475 footcandles at full spot, from a distance of 10' (3 m).

Multi-Use
  • Each fixture can operate with 120-240VAC current, with the appropriate bulb and adapter plug
  • The Omni-light can also operate with a 12V or 30V DC power source, with the appropriate bulb and cable--all available separately
  • Light Shaping
Use the gels, scrims, barndoors and umbrella to alter the color, shape and quality of the light
    Kit Case
The kit case holds it all safely, including the light stands, for storage and transport

Basically 3 Kit is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from very good portable lighting solution We use this mostly to light talking heads and interviews. I like that it is sturdy and portable. It is pretty heavy so don't plan on carrying it very far without working up a sweat. The kit does include a shoulder strap which can be nice to free up your hands for other things. Installing/inserting the bulbs into the tota lights is tough. The springs in the fixture are so stiff we broke one of the bulbs trying to get it out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great light kit for an interview These Lowel lights have stood the test of time. They are well build and the put out a lot of reliable light. I usually use this kit to shoot interviews but these Total lights have enough power to bump up the ambient light in an entire (small to medium) room. These lights do get really hot but that's about the only downside. However, that's the tradeoff for lights that can throw out this much illumination.
