    LEE Filters MWH reviews

Universal (Medium Wide) Lens Hood is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from A must for outdoor strobe users!! When you are looking to shoot outside with strobes and maintain a shallow depth of field this is essential! Combined with a .6 and .9 ND filters you can have 2.8 at 1/250 at high noon! This hood is durable and at this price is basically disposable! One important thing to note is that this hood is usable for full frame cameras that want to shoot with 20mm wide lenses, no vignetting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good all-purpose hood I can only carry one hood, and this one seems a good all-purpose choice. It works well (on my 4X5) with a 75 Grandagon, but not fully extended. I will need to pay attention from now on to possible vignetting - which happens when the hood is extended more than about 1.5 inches. Still, it is worth the extra hassle, since the hood fully extended works very nicely with my 150 and 300 lenses. The most awkward thing about the hood is that it makes adjusting the Grandagon very difficult - the lens is mounted in a recessed board.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unlike any other lens shade This was my first purchase of a LEE Product and I must say that this company definitely pays attention to the quality of their products. I purchased this with their 105mm Circular Polarizer, Little Stopper and Big Stopper ND filters and they're all top grade products. The ways you can partially collapse parts of this shade allow you to block sun yet open another area to avoid vignetting. It's very malleable unlike rigid lens hoods.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product I use the lens hood for landscape photography. I love how easy it is to use. So far I haven't had any problems with it. It's a great addition to my kit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Highly recommended Build quality is excellent. I have fitted the 105 mm polariser, 5 minute job. With bellows fully extended, focal length needs to 45 mm or longer. Shorter focal lengths do work as well, you just need to extend the bellows a bit less. It is very flexible, one can just pull on side of the bellow forward if wanted. I use this when the sun is very low from on side

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I think it's awesome! A little pricey but it's tough and modifiable. Have missed this type of product since I sold my hasselblad!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Too much whiz and not enough bang I use this for studio and location portraits with strobe lights. Things that are great is that you have control of how much flare (milky effect) you want to poor in your camera, by tilting the hood towards the sun, or what ever your light source is. What I don't like about it is that while you try to adjust the hood it pops right off my lens every time. You have to use 2 hands to do it. Also the plastic material around the ring is very flimsy. I understand that it makes it feel very light, but for that price they could use carbon fiber material for the ring. Over all paying $$for it you would not expect those problems happening. I wish it would sit tighter on the lens. Other than that it does great job, and makes your camera look awesome. what I know now about it, I wouldn't buy it. Because I've invested in 2 ND Lee filters and lens ring. Over all came out over $500. But even without the filters, it's still expensive. P.S. !!!IMPORTANT TIP!!!! At B&H they told me that you cant use regular filters with this hood. That's a lie! You can screw it right on top of any regular UV, ND etc filters!
