K-Tek K-18NK reviews

KTK18NK - XLR Male to XLR Female Coiled Cable (1.5-9') is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 15.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great cable for mobile audio with a boom I have a boom pole with a plug on the bottom and this cable's right angle adapter allows me to rest the pole on the ground without fear of destroying the cable end. The length of the cable is perfect for stretching from my board to above my head without too much tension. I am short though, (5' 6) a taller person may require a slightly longer coiled cable for their boom, but this one fits me perfectly. Nice not to have to dress my boom cable constantly, instead I can focus on recording good audio. Wish the cable was a little cheaper.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Coiled too far, fits VDB. The longer K-Tek cables seem to get a much longer straight section before the right angle. This cable is coiled to within 1 of the right angle connector. Not really an issue, but it makes it very difficult to get the slack you need between pole and mic in order to reduce phonic transfer from pole handling. If I ever need to repair the mic end of the cable I will definitely be splicing in some straight cable to gain more slack. It isn't bad enough that I felt the need to return the cable. I used this cable to replace a damaged internal coil on an old VDB and it fit perfectly. Just disassemble the Neutrik connector at the bottom end and screw on the VDB exit. The whole process took maybe 2 minutes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Solution High quality XLR. I actually use this to go between my already wired boompole and my mixer bag. The coil is just the right length to stretch out as far as I would need it and then coil back out of the way when I pull the boom closer. I no longer have to constantly be wrangling my xlr cable, letting loops in or out to give me the cable length I need. Perfect for running and gunning.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality product. I've only owned this cord for about a month but it seems very well made. I like the right angle XLR because it seems way more bullet proof than most. For me, the problems that usually occur with coiled cords are usually within the right anle XLR... the design of this one leads me to believe that it will last.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works Well for Mobile Audio This coiled XLR works well with boom poles that have an integrated XLR cable. I always hated having to cary a coil of wire on my waist to connect the mic to the sound mixer. This cable fixes the issue. The cable is very tightly wound and takes a little while to break in.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Lasted about 60 days Bought this cable new to connect to my XLR output in my K-Tek pole. This cable died after about 60 days. The wire connection into the female part of the plug simply didn't hold up to normal/lite use. Too bad, because it was the right length.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ok coiled cable. I'd rather have one with longer straight bits at the ends, but it seems to work on. It feels Just a touch too short sometimes... but not ridiculously so.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good investment. I was hesitant to spend the money on a cable, but I'm glad I did. Quality connectors and a cable that stays out of the way
