Olympus Zuiko Digital 11-22mm f/2.8-3.5 Overview

  • 1Description

A versatile wide-angle zoom designed for Four Thirds SLR cameras, the Zuiko Digital 11-22mm f/2.8-3.5 Lens from Olympus combines a 22-44mm equivalent focal length range with a bright f/2.8-3.5 maximum aperture range. The lens construction features a pair of aspherical elements to reduce spherical aberrations throughout the zoom range for sharper, clearer image quality. An 11" minimum focusing distance is maintained throughout the zoom range, too, for creative close-focusing capabilities, and a seven blade diaphragm contributes a pleasing bokeh quality. Additionally, the lens has a splash- and dust-resistant construction to benefit working in inclement environments.

Olympus Zuiko Digital 11-22mm f/2.8-3.5 Reviews

Zuiko Digital 11-22mm f/2.8-3.5 Lens is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 20.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid wide-angle I bought this lens before the 9-18mm came out and the 7-14mm was too expensive. A lens worthy of the name Olympus: good sharpness and contrast, little barrel-distorsion at 11mm. I use it for architectural photography a lot and it does the job. Low flare in verry contrasty conditions like night-shots. After my 7-14mm comes in (from B+H) I will continue using it with a pol-filter. Cons: not realy, it is a bit heavy and it looks like a small tele, but that is the price to pay for real quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An Excellent Wide-Angle Lens This lens is fantastic. I shoot a lot of cityscapes and buildings and it consistently gives me sharp images. The contrast is great too, and so I love using it in bright sunlight. The 11mm wide-angle is beautiful with virtually no barrel distortion. The lens is also lightweight and well built, being both dust and splash-proof. Auto focus is quick as well. I couldn't be happier with this purchase, and I highly recommend it to any Four-Thirds user.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from In a class by itself! This lens is a scene photographer's dream! A near ultra-wide to near standard field of view lens in one weather resistant relatively fast package. I'm amazed at the sharpness of small distant objects and lack of all the well known distortions in this lens. I use it with an E-5 body and I love how they work together. No other manufacturer offers an equivalent set of specs believe me I researched for months.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great, worth every penny This lens is razor sharp, well built, and wonderfully bright. It rivals or surpasses the results of any of the Nikon super wides I've used in the past.and its weather sealed... Expertise: Pro Problems Encountered: None so far. Previous Equivalent Item Owned: Lots of Nikon pro gear Items I Recommend: E-1, or whatever pro body follows (e-3?)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for what I needed I used this lens on my last trip to Wyoming. It was perfect for getting the wide shots on landscapes. Great quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great low light wide angle lens I use this lens on my E-30, I almost got the 9-18mm (f4-5.6) lens but I prefer not to use flash when photographing evening/night/indoor events so I got this one. The lens works well in low light and I do not consider this lens to be loud when auto focussing as others have found.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overlooked Lens This is a very nice high-grade lens, albeit somewhat overlooked after the introduction of the 12-60mm high-grade lens. It is fast and has little distortion. I picked up a used copy to use with the scuba kit, but I also use it on hikes in the mountains in and around Tahoe.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from High quality lens worth the money A great lens to use for interiors and architectural applications. Highly recommended.

    question

Can I mount this to an Olympus film camera?
    Asked by: Anonymous
Only with an adapter. The Four Thirds mount system was made in the digital era so there are no film cameras that are four thirds mount.

    question

can i use it with panasonic g7 camera?
    Asked by: Johan N.
The Olympus Zuiko Digital 11-22mm f/2.8-3.5 Lens is designed for the standard Four Thirds lens system, while the Panasonic Lumix DMC-G7 Mirrorless Digital Camera uses the smaller Micro Four Thirds lens mount. As such, they are not directly compatible. You would need to purchase a lens adapter, such as the Olympus MMF-3 Four Thirds Lens to Micro Four Thirds Lens Mount Adapter, B&H # OLMMF3, or the Vello Auto Lens Adapter - Four Thirds Lens to Micro Four Thirds Camera, B&H # VELAEMFTFT, to connect a standard Four Thirds lens to a Micro Four Thirds lens mount.
