Liquid Cyanotype Printing Kit is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 63.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Inexpensive, works great This is a quality professional product for a great price. The bottles are quite large, and I've found that I can create dozens of prints with each set. Chemicals are good quality (no smell, mold, etc.) and mix easily. Definitely plan on purchasing in the future. If I could change one thing, it would be the cap - I am worried about it cracking and spilling since the plastic doesn't seem very strong, but it has not happened yet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Out with the New, In with the Old I've used Formulary cyanotype for several years on numerous types of paper for contact printing 8 x 10 and 4 x 5 film negatives, as well as making photograms from found objects and flora. The product lasts a long time if kept tightly capped in cool, dark conditions, has rich blues on most papers and works well on a variety of substrates, including paper, paper towels and cotton cloth. It has a great dynamic range and wonderful contrast. It works well single- or double-coated, on damp or dry paper, and mixed 1:1, A:B or in other ratios with water added. Compared to the new, one-part cyanotype, the regular two-part stuff has a longer shelf life after being applied to the paper/cloth, is less fussy and far more tolerant of impurities found in various papers. It's pretty dreadful and uneven past the expiration date, though! Be careful and use a fresh brew. Development times vary according to intensity, density of negative, thickness of glass over negative and wavelength of light, but don't usually exceed 20 minutes (longer if you're outside on a cloudy day). I've printed using the sun and UV bulbs at about 350-370nm. It's a great process for kids because it's not toxic (unless exposed to a strong acid) and very simple to use. You only need the sun, a paintbrush and some water to expose and develop prints. It's also good for impatient adults.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So Much Fun I was introduced to this product while taking an Alternative Processes class. Since then I have been in love with cyanotypes and curse cloudy days. I like exposing on different types of paper best. Also, investigating different types of tones on your cyanotype will blow your mind! This is a great product! It is easy to use, easy to clean up and works on just about anything. It also lasts for a long time. The only downside is that this stuff stains everything! So, make sure you are careful with your application and thorough with your clean up. Do not mess up your good clothes!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Turned out beautiful! I made several sets of cyanotype prints and they turned out beautifully! The chemicals are enough to make many more prints than what is listed on the bottle. Dark colored bottles protect from the light. Would definately buy this again, was recommended by my college professor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Blue Beauty I did my final in school on Cyanotype prints. My heart and mind were blown away with how fun, and easy this process is. With the chemicals I had complete control over what I wanted exposed. I felt like I was in the darkroom all over again but instead was playing with the sun. Amazing product. Highly recommend for those who love alternative processes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Deal / Easy To Use I bought this kit for making my very first cyanotypes. The instructions are easy to follow (and charmingly written) and it even came with a packet of sizing starch and crystals for making the emulsion even darker, which I wasn't expecting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Stuff! I've been using this 2-part liquid cyanotypes solution for almost 4 years now, and it's never really failed me. I use it for simpler, more printmaking based, imagery so there isn't as much of a worry about precision photographic results, but it works well and can achieve a broad range of values, and can easily be toned with a variety of toning agents. This is something every print shop should have in conjunction with their dark room.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Would buy again The cyanotype kit comes with an A and a B solution to mix together to make the chemistry, but also includes arrowhead and Potassium Dichromate for sizing paper and upping contrast, respectively. Pretty thorough, well priced, and about as idiot proof as it gets. The prints I made were the hallmark Prussian Blue you would expect.
