Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amber Glass Can't Be Beat I'm slowly replacing all my plastic bottles with glass. They are easier to label (just write on masking tape and peel off when you want to change labels), easier to clean, can be boiled to remove stubborn deposits, aren't scratched by scrubbing pads and don't collapse when the chemical inside absorbs oxygen from the air above it. Plus they look great in the cabinet - very classic!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from No wiggle room I typically like to make a liter of solution whenever I buy new chemicals. I've tried making a half liter before but it didn't work out with the quantities of chemicals I purchased. The chemical kit I buy provides enough chemicals to make one liter, namely the 2 ounce Stabilizer. Which is fine because a liter is plenty for developing two rolls of 35mm at once, or 1 roll of 120 film. The problem with these bottles is that there is no wiggle room. I've poured exact amounts into them only to have them run over slightly, and I end up wasting chemicals. My opinion is that they should hold a little more than a liter so that your bottle does not overflow when you pour your precisely measured solution and water into it. A better way that I have discovered is as follows: buy yourself three 1.5 liter bottles of wine. Drink the wine and rinse the bottles out. Mix your chemicals into the 1.5L wine bottles, and you'll have plenty of extra room to avoid spillage. Also, for extra measure buy a few vacuum sealable Foodsaver brand wine corks (you will obviously need a Foodsaver vacuum sealer to use the sealable corks). I'm sure the regular corks would work just fine, but the vacuum sealer has served me well in giving my mixed chemicals a little bit of extra shelf life while I am out shooting film. Anyway, that has worked for me, while these bottles with no wiggle room have sat in my garage collecting dust.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Durable, thick glass, 1 liter capacity does to the job! I use these for storing C-41 color chemicals and black and white chemicals for film development. 1 liter is about all you will ever need if you are developing up to 2 rolls of film at a time. I wouldn't say they are unbreakable, but I have dropped one a couple feet off the ground and it bounced right back, pretty thick glass that doesn't want to break too easy. All in all a great buy.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not really 1000ml First let me say these bottles had a tag indicating their capacity is really 950ml. I purchased four of them. It was disappointing because I had to discard part of the chemical prepared for color development. In addition, one of the bottles from 4 purchased had a big bubble embedded in the glass. That's a defect that must be captured by the manufacturer and never reach to the customer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent product I use these to store chemicals for 5x7 trays, but I mix a full bottle to keep the strength in storage. Works great so far. They fit nice in your hand, and are heavy enough to sit up in the sink while chemicals are brought to temperature. Plus glass is of course is easy to clean.Only nit for me is I'd like metal caps, as these seem sure to break somewhere down the line.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superlative Glass Bottles I use these bottles to hold photographic chemicals for my black and white darkroom. They are the perfect size to hold chemicals for 8 X 10 processing trays. When I needed to replace my 30 year old glass bottles, I had very little hope of finding a decent, non-plastic replacement. Lo and behold these are just as good, if not better!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great for storing liquids I store my processing chemicals especially those sensitive to oxidation. Bottles appear to be very sturdy and arrived very well packed. glass is much less likely to allow air passage than thin plasticThe only negative is the possibility of dropping and breaking the bottle
