    Giottos FP1021 reviews

Rubber Foot with Metal Spike is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of the better spiked feet available. These spiked feet are great for adding tripod stability on loose ground. In sand, small gravel, and loose soil, they work as advertised. They work much better than Manfrotto's spike kits, simply because the Giottos spikes are longer. If you have a wide leg spread, the Manfrotto spikes won't penetrate far enough into the ground, but these do. The rubber foot is high quality rubber and provides great traction when the spike is not needed. They do have one con however: removing the rubber foot from the spike is very difficult. I have strong hands and it's a fight to get the cap off. The removal tool that came with my tripod is essential for doing so and even then, it's a struggle. It does become slightly easier with time though. At least I never need to worry about the foot accidentally falling off. 4.5 out of 5 stars for a near perfect product, at a reasonable price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just as advertised! Nicely milled solid aluminum feet, screw into Giotto tripod legs snugly and smoothly. Probably should use some thread-loc, but will keep eye on that. Needed a wrench to install, so thread fits snug as said, but is smooth, good fit. The rubber cups are good firm rubber, and snap off and over the aluminum spike. I don't know if this method is good or bad yet... Time will tell on that. The cups are good quality though, so should be fine. Love my Giotto tripod, #YTL9313. Quality product. It appears that the feet are every bit as nice as the tripod itself!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Gets the Job Done, but Could Be Better I installed these on my carbon fiber Induro CT314 tripod to provide extra stability when I am not shooting from a hard surface. They screwed in easily and work as billed. However, the spikes are not retractable like many other designs. I have to pull off the rubber foot (not particularily easy, since it is a very tight fit) and then manage not to lose it. I could not find a screw-type retractable foot that would fit the thread size, and I wonder if repeated removals will eventually loosen the fit to the point that they could fall off (assuming that I don't lose them first).

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not many other options used with Canon 5d mark II for additional support to protect camera and 70-200mm L II lens. Clearly durable. Very, Very difficult to use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice replacement I bought these to replace the strange moon lander feet that came with my Induro CT-404. Installation took less than a minute. The rubber covers come off quickly to reveal the spikes underneath. Physically the feet are fairly large, but perhaps a tad too narrow for the CT-404 - when the CT-404 is almost flat on the ground the feet no longer make contact with the ground (instead the legs touch the ground first).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best idea yet These are great , and I think Giottos and Gitzo are the only two that makes thim. The Gitzo looks the same , but are 3 times the price. I originally bought them for a Feisol tripod that I have , but the threads are different , but they do fit a older Benro tripod I have. Of course they will fit Giottos, and maybe a few other tripod brands that use the same thread size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stable Foot I foolishly lost one of my tripod feet by not tightening it in place. This replacement foot exactly matches the original two. The rubber outer fits snugly but comes off with a good twist so that the metal spike can be used. I made sure that the replacement was plenty tight.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great repalcement for original feet I lost somehow, one of the original feet from my Giottos tripod and decided to replace all of them so that they matched. It took a while for these to come in but they work great and screwed right in...no problems what so ever.
