SMK-Link VP4150 Reviews
Works x 2
We are using this device to drive 2 PowerPoint's (2 pc's, each with a receiver). We were concerned that there might be problems with keeping the two versions of the presentation in sync. So far, so good. We made it through a 40+ slide PowerPoint and never got out of sync.
simple elegant device
Does exactly what you need it to simply, and always works with any laptop!. USB devices that come with projectors occasionally have issues in my experience.
The Cadillac of PowerPoint Remotes
My co-workers make fun of me, but I love this little thing. I transferred to a new job and ordered one for here too. If you've ever had a cheap remote drop out on you, you will appreciate this one.
Works as Promised
Am a pastor using this during worship. Can move around and get very good response from my presentation regardless of where I am standing.
Simple PowerPoint controller
I have used this model of remote for many years. It is very simple and allows only forward, backward, blank screen and laser pointer. The simplicity allows the inexperienced user to run their show without breaking the presentation. It may be too simple for some users but as the AV tech I need it simple to reduce the failures.
Looks aren't everything
Looks good, but... - The range is too short and the angle of the range is too narrow. The idea is that this gadget is meant to keep one away from the computer, not chained to it. - The dongle is not stored in the device but has to be carried separately. Sooner or later, it will be lost.
OK, it works, but...
This is an adequate, if not a bit clunky of an accessory for use with PowerPoint presentations, however, it is definitely not without its flaws. The most annoying thing is that the rubber-like case has become a gooey, sticky mess, either because it is reacting to the nylon carrying sock, or it's just breaking down because of age/oxidation. I could suggest some functionality improvements, but will leave that to others comments in these reviews. I don't particularly recommend this device.
Finally!
I went through several cheaper versions of this presenter before buying this one. This is actually my second one. The first lasted 4 years through hundreds of hours of presentations. I change the batteries about once a year. The first one is still working, it just started missing a click sometimes.
