To keep weight to a minimum and yet get maximum strength, all MSE Solid Frames are made of 3/8" thin wall tubing. The mounting pin is solid rod.
The 48" x 48" frames are made with two "ears" at the bottom to protect fabric when frames are slid in and out of their storage boxes or can be used as a point to tie off when used in certain conditions.
Solid Frames are black powder coated to minimize reflections.

For product shots, or quick interviews. This thing has great diffusion as is FAST to get going in comparison to a 6X6 Frame and silk. 1 C Stand with a sandbag can hold this thing no problem.
This flag is built neatly and stably. It doesn't diffuse that very much. And that means it doesn't take away so much light. This makes it perfect for making a softbox light shine even more softly, for example. Or directly in front of the spotlight as natural room light. I also use it as diffusor to make a bit shadow about a person in direct sun light. I find this flag very useful and take it with me to every shoot.
It's worth it. Buy it.

A necessity for any filmmaker to throw soft, flattering, diffused light on a subject. Like everything Matthews makes it is very well constructed. I will be purchasing more.
Amazingly solid for the price. I do wish it was able to come apart and fold down...
It does exactly what it's suppose to do and is made very well. Should last a while as long as you take care of it.
